Loved reading this book, would deffinitely reccomend to other readers. Great growth and development in both characters and storyline

The Fae Rii, a race of magic wielding travellers and traders, who travel between dimensions by using a gate, are led by Jintaya. When they enter a world already inhabited by a variety of tribes, politics ensues.
The world building, character development, and magic system were all exquisite. The focus isn't so much on the combat and which of the groups manages to control everything, rather it is on how the various tribes interact and work, albeit in some cases unwillingly, to create a stable world.
The current story left me feeling a little unfinished, usually the works written by Jean Johnson can be read alone, this book however will be enriched by also reading the next ones in the series.
A thoroughly enjoyable read.
