Summer of Supernovas by Darcy Woods
Oh my goodness, I loved Summer of Supernovas! I've never been a believer in astrology, so I was a bit worried about how I'd feel about this book but I had a lot of fun reading this in spite of that. The romance and the friendships completely won me over. I thought Wil was very easy to like, and a character I probably would have been friends with in high school. I loved her relationships with her grandma so much, and I ended up really missing mine while reading this. I really like Irina, too! There were such great relationships in this book. Grant and Seth were both so great, too. I don't usually like love triangles, much less tricky ones like this, but since I loved both the boys so much it was ok. Even though I wanted her to pick both, and that isn't an option. But my GOSH, what girl doesn't want two awesome boys interested in her? Wil is living the dream. The writing was just beautiful. No complaints. And the idea of finding yourself while falling in love is something I think every young person should read about. It made me feel so happy, warm, and nostalgic. Highly recommnded!
I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.
This has been on my TBR pile for so long, and I'm glad I finally got around to it. I really enjoyed the storyline and seeing the characters change throughout the story was a great character development. The plot was great and kept my attention. I'm glad I got the chance to read this and will be on the lookout for more in the future!
I had tried to give Summer of Supernovas a chance, but unfortunately this book wasn’t for me at the time. I’m sure other YA contemporary fans will enjoy it!
DNFed at 19%. Disliked the main character, Wilamena from the get go. She’s very abrasive, and wasn’t someone I felt I could warm to at all. Her and Irina’s friendship was strange, and they were borderline offensive at times. Did not think that I would enjoy it if I forced myself to read any more. Especially with the love triangle being foreshadowed between brothers Grant and Seth, and all of the obsession over the zodiac and astrology. Not for me
Wilamena is obsessed with astrology, just like her beloved dead mother. When Wil meets two brothers, she is instantly attracted to Grant, the only problem is he is the opposite sign she is destined to love. When the zodiac chart points Wil to his brother, she decides to pursue him, but she just can’t get Grant out of her mind, or heart.
