I decided not to finish A Gown of Thorns at the 30% mark.
I could not get into this story. Once I got to the 30% mark, I felt like not much had really happened, nor did I feel like I understood where the author was taking the story. Typically I can overlook a meandering plot if there are interesting characters, but there was zero character development. I just could not bring myself to pick this one up to finish. Not my cup of tea.

Interesting and entertaining story. Like the history used and author's interpretation of events. Interesting characters. Liked the story flow.
This book mostly takes place in 2003 on a vineyard in France, with some interludes to the same location during WWII, where some English spies were hiding out with a member of the French resistance. The parts in the past, however, were experienced by the main character somehow having a vision of herself in the part of an English woman from the past - I have to say, I would have preferred it if it were just straight flashbacks rather than this supernatural element. Book was also a bit too romance novel for my taste. I really enjoyed Natalie Meg Evans' book "The Milliner's Secret," but unfortunately did not find this one as compelling.
