Loved reading this book, would deffinitely reccomend to other readers. Great growth and development in both characters and storyline

Great urban fantasy! I absolutely loved the world, and am already itching to keep uncovering all the different types of magic hinted at in the story. The "dragon" magic was fascinating and completely unique to me, as were a ton of the other types of magic (mirror mages and origins and trackers and demons and just a whole array of awesome powers). The characters were fun, and I can already see all sorts of spin-off adventures following the three girls and the magical shop of artifacts they run together :)
The first chapter starts with a bang and it absolutely hooked me. I'm definitely going to need to continue reading so I can uncover who the big bad is, and how they destroy him!
*I got this from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I absolutely love sci-fi and fantasy books, and Ancient Magic was perfect. It had so much powerful tones in it, that I really enjoyed reading it. Putting it on my list next to Harry Potter.
I was moderately interested in the premise of this book. Definitely more interested then not at least. That interest began taking a downward turn barely 5% in because the author is REALLY FOND of having the characters repeat information. Vocal confirmations they were all suffering the same symptoms. Internal dialogue confirmation. External "bad guy" dialogue confirming what was JUST CONFIRMED several pages ago.
This persists throughout though the worst offenses are at the start.
Insta-interest just add magic for the romance. I wouldn't say insta-love, but definitely insta-lust.
The world building isn't anything revolutionary (big magic keeps mortals from finding out the truth) and while I found myself interested in Del's powers, Cass annoyed me to no end.
Also any story where I accidentally skip 60% but the plot has barely inched forward, isn't a good sign (I'm on my Kindle and somehow I went from 15% to 74% between one chapter & another, but literally the only problem I had was I thought I missed Claire & Connor's help in the previous fight. I read on for another 15% before I realized wait I wasn't this far a long. Wasn't lost at all. Because NOTHING USEFUL seemed to have happened).
So this is a no rec for me.
