As the modern news industry continues to go through seismic changes, Barnhurst's book offers some interesting insight into how the industry has changed. The author offers an interesting and pretty convincing explanation of how the "news" has changed since the 1800s, into a different beast he refers to as "journalism" - with different ideology, agenda, methodology, etc.
Certainly recommended for any student of journalism and media. An interesting read.
