This past year I became quite a fan of Junior and Middle Grade books. In general I find them quite fun, whimsical and quickly entertaining reads. I am not a big fan of fantasy books, they are in fact my least favorite genre. I've yet to meet a YA fantasy book I like, in fact. I picked this one up because I thought that I might like Middle Grade fantasy, if I was to like any fantasy at all.

I wasn't completely in love with this either, but that was no big suprise to me. It didn't change my mind about fantasy at all. So now I know, whether it is YA, MG or Adult, fantasy just isn't my cup of tea.

The story was cute, and interesting. It did lag for a good bit of the book, and it also seemed like a long book. I wish it had been edited down better so that the story didn't drag on as much.

While this isn't my favorite, mostly because of the genre, I still found it enjoyable, and overall I gave it a 3 star rating.
