Sefia is on the run, trying to save The Book. She's not sure why she has it or what she's supposed to do with it, but she knows her parents kept it a secret for a reason.
The Reader was unbearably confusing, and the chapters jumped around a lot. This one was painful to get through.
Very unusual thriller! There are several different storylines that do eventually come together! Not at all what I expected! The two main characters are well-developed, and the reader feels he/she knows them! Several characters are of unexpected gender! Really interesting and irritating at the same time!
This book had so much going on. It felt like a summer blockbuster; basically lets just throw everything that we think people like at it and see if it works. This book had dystopian governments, reading people's minds, pirate ships, teleportation, and seeing into the future. I would have liked it better if it had just picked a lane and not tried to be 3 different genres at once.
I enjoyed this book. It got a little confusing between character POVs and time frames and what was a "story" vs. what was really happening. Until you discover the truth. So the flow was a little off. But all-around it was really good. Books about books are the best kind of books! I really liked Sefia and Archer. And Captain Reed! When's the sequel?
I didn't post a review but shared this book with teens at the library I work at. A lovely book.
Such an interesting concept. Totally something I'd recommend to my students. I loved this so much!
