This is a lovely little book with charmingly illustrated pictures to go with quirky idioms from around the world along with their explanations. A fun book to have sitting on your bookshelf for when you need a few minutes of joy.

Interesting sayings and lovely illustrations make this a book that is worth perusing. I didn't read it all in one sitting; it was better to let some of the sayings "digest." It would be a wonderful gift book, too.

I absolutely adored Ella Frances Sanders' book of sayings! Not only are sayings themselves a beautiful thing, but Sanders' illustrations absolutely elevate them. 'The Illustrated Book of Sayings' is a coffee table book, in all the best meanings of the term. It's the kind of book I'd proudly display on my table, the kind of book anyone would life to leave through and then get stuck reading. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who loves beautifully illustrated books.
