This graphic novel was a cute Ghostbusters story. Graphic novels aren't my favorite medium but I enjoyed it anyway.
Such a fun extension of the Ghostbusters franchise. Burnham does a great job bringing Our Heroes to the graphic page, and enlarging the world they move through while finding new bonkers stories for them suffer.
This was okay. It didn't overly impress me, but there was still a lot to like about this.
One problem I have is that it's really kind of difficult to determine (until you hit a reading order chart at the very back of the book) that this is set after nine plus volumes of the regular Ghostbusters comic series. If I had known that before I picked it up, I probably would have held off reading this until I was further in the main arc. Even still, it wasn't too difficult to follow the story even though I was unfamiliar with a couple of characters.
The other problem is that they partially split up the team, with Egon stuck in New York with an injury while the others are away internationally. I felt like a big portion of the usual team banter was missing without a key member there to contribute, and that's definitely a shame since their banter is part of what makes Ghostbusters so fun.
The art is fun, the characters still feel true to how they were portrayed in the movies. I'm curious to see where the plot ends up going next.
The right mix of humor and a sinister plot that is just beginning. The characters were faithfully represented and I could hear their voices as I read. Loved the snark. The artwork really added to my overall enjoyment of the book.
As longs Burnham continues to write Ghostbusters and I will continue to read Ghostbusters. Straight up, forever. This man gets the sound and feel of Ghostbusters. The humor is right, the dialogue is snappy, this is just great franchise-fic work. In this case the crew gets leased out to other cities and have to take care of regionally specific haunts and creatures, hilarity ensues.
Verdict: Get it. always and often.
This was excellent, definitely one I'd recommend for al lovers of the original Ghostbusters film series - 5 stars no hesitation!
Great graphic novel for Ghostbusters! Love the movies, and this does it justice.
This was a good book if you're into Ghostbusters. It gave a slightly different take, but there was nothing unexpected.
