I am used to books where he have a dual point of view and this one has only Glenna's, which bothered me since I wanted to know what Eric was thinking. He seemed so cold and distant and that made me think that he wasn't very invested in the relationship he had with Glenna and that it was one-sided, which ruined the whole romance idea I had in mind. The book was lukewarm and I would recommend it only if you have read/plan to read the first book in the series.
This is the second book of the series. I don't think there are any books so far written after this one. I was okay understanding everything in this book without having to read the first book, but I am intrigued to read the first book after reading this one, but I'm hoping that the book will go on sale since the price tag is $5.99.
The plot of this ARC is that Glenna works for a university and is an assistant to a professor that works there. Her grandmother has passed away and after the funeral, she finds cards with sexually explicit instructions. Glenna has a crush on another professor at the university named Eric Morris and he ends up listening to a conversation between Glenna and her best friend whom she shares an office with and ends up volunteering to be her sexual partner to experiment with based on the instructions from the cards.
I did like how Glenna goes from being a timid character to possessing more self-confidence. I didn't really care for Eric's character at the beginning of the book but ended up eventually liking him. I also thought that the story at the beginning was a bit slow and then it sped up quickly. I felt the past of the book throughout could've been a little better and more consistent. Also, the sexy parts weren't too bad, but I thought that they could've been written a little hotter.
I would probably more books from Ms. d'Abo, but unfortunately, it doesn't look like any of her books are on Kindle Unlimited and some of the cost of the books are a bit pricey for me.
I couldn't read this book.... sorry. Netgalley didn't sent me the book. I requested it but couldn't downloaded it.
I am afraid this book was not for me, I find it hard to get into or like the characters so I will not be able to leave a full review.
