Disney has helped popularize well-used tropes about evil stepmothers. Romance flips that trope on its head, utilizing the caring young woman – often a nanny, but not always – who comes into the life of a widower and his children, quickly mends their broken hearts, and then becomes a loving, devoted stepmother. Guitar and curtain-clothes are a bonus, but not required. Read my complete review by clicking the link below.

The initial description and cover drew me to this book. It's the authors debut novel and a book on love and grief. The latter referring to the death of a 30+ mother who died leaving two small children.
I received a copy of the book from the publishers via Netgallery for a fair and honest review. - thank you!
Charlotte, the narrator of the book, is a musician. She becomes cheated out of her musical career and turns to become a nanny, in New York City, for the short term until her career can get back on track.
She becomes the Nanny to two young boys, initially for the short term. But, two years in their mother dies and she realises that she is a key figure in their lives and caring as much as she does it's difficult for her to leave so she stays with the boys.
Overall it's a good read. I found it difficult to read, especially where the book flits back and forth between past and present. Although, this tries to add depth and understanding to the book for me it hindered and became a little to complex and difficult to follow.
It's without a doubt an emotional story, but overall a 3 for me.
