I readily admit that I did NOT like Rachel for most of this book. She got on my nerves and it was due to a combination of her personality and the way she was with her family, especially how she distanced herself when it came to her dealing with her father's illness. It took me a good long while before she won me over. She somewhat killed the romance aspect for me because I just felt bad for the dude.
