A raw and gritty story of two people consumed by passion and a desire to be pushed to the limit.
This book is emotionally driven and the characters will push themselves and test each other to discover how far they will go for love..
An inferno read, not for the faint of heart.
Devastating, beautiful, heartbreaking and hopeful. This story had all these feelings and more. This story has dark themes throughout that may trigger some readers but I enjoyed every twist and turn it took right to the very end.
This steamy read would make anyone roar with desire! It was a great steamy read that had me interested from the very beginning! I thought it was a great simple steamy read! The writing came across clearly and well! Great read!
I have not had a chance to read this book yet. I am still working on catching up and also trying not to get too far behind on other books. I will update this review once I have read the book.
Wonderful book about characters Veronica and Ian. This one was a fantastic romantic suspense with a nice balance of each. I love the storyline and the characters!
In exchange for my honest review, this title had been forwarded to me by the publisher.
Even if suspense is not your gig. Even if you are jaded about love. Even if family pain is not something you are personally comfortable thinking about, let alone standing up to....
Something in this novel will resonate with you. Crime and suspense is not usually my first choice for an afternoon read. However, Tracey Wolf may have changed my mind, even if just a little bit. Certainly enough to feel empathy and connection to her main characters and bits of anger and outrage towards others. The bonus of an impossible love breaking through tough boundaries was a gift.
I am being intentionally evasive in my review. Hopefully I have intrigued you , because this book really does belong on your e-reader, bedside table, or audio. You won't regret it. You might even feel the need to praise the author, as well.
It took me a few chapters to really get into this book, but boy am I glad I stuck with it. While it started out confusing with some writing tics that I found distracting, these things quickly fell by the wayside and turned into a story that gripped me and held me until the end.
Veronica Romero was a strange one for me. It took me a while to get to like her, but once we understood her, the life she led and the things she had gone through in the past, it was difficult not to respect her. She was a woman that had taken control of her own destiny in a town and career that sought to eat her alive, and it was fascinating to see the way her mind worked behind the persona she put forth to the public. She was an enigma and I enjoyed the verbal sparring and sexual tension between her and Ian.
Ian was the perfect match for Veronica. He was direct and level while she was coy and calculating. He was cool and collected while she was fiery. But together, they were perfect. He was the dominant man while she was the surprisingly submissive partner who never realized what she needed out of a lover.
The one thing I will say that I felt a bit cheated on though, was a better grasp on Ian from a relationship perspective. We found out what motivated him in his career, what scared him, and why he was the person he had become. I loved that. But on a simpler level, I wanted to know mundane things about him. I wanted to know what he looked like! I wanted to know what his past romantic relationships were. Where did a man, one that seemed to read a woman’s wants and needs so well, hone these skills?
But aside from having to imagine these answers, I have no complaints about the story. I enjoyed the suspense, I loved the instant and overwhelming attraction and the passion that burned between these two. I loved the dominant/submissive dynamic. And most importantly, I loved that everything was tied up for me in a nice little package. I’m a sucker for epilogues and I want to know what goes on in the lives of these people that I have grown to enjoy, even after the curtain has gone down. Ms. Wolff did not disappoint with such a suspenseful and erotic read.
Tracy Wolff gave us everything in this novel. This book had my emotions all over the place and I loved every second of it. From guessing what was going to happen next to rooting for Ian and Veronica. There has not been a single book by Tracy Wolff that I have not loved.
