Lol! This was a great book! All our favorite fashion icons through the ages between two covers! Though, not a fashion plate, or clothes horse myself, I know there are plenty out there who are and they will love this book! Who knows? there is sure to be some up and coming fashion icon out there who is inspired by these women! Fun, easy, and quick read!
An excellent book for any child wanting to learn more about fashion trends and icons around the globe and throughout time. It served as an excellent resource for a project on fashion trends.
Fun, brief look at female fashion icons/iconoclasts throughout history. Croll does a pretty good job of spreading the net across the whole world, and so the book doesn't come across as totally western.
While reading about CoCo Chanel, Cleopatra, Marilyn Monroe, Madonna, and Lady Gaga you will see how fashion can be rebellious, subversive, and history making.

A fun book for anyone that likes fashion, history and feminist! It is geared towards teens but I quite enjoyed it as a coffee table kind of book.
A quick read, but perfect I think for juv - teen readers! I appreciated the variety of women featured and that the author made a point to bring up and put in context the political concepts and ideologies that often permeated their lives. A book like this is really just a survey, a quick dip into the vastly complicated and controversial lives of the subjects, and I think it does a good job of piquing the interest towards further personal research and inspiration. Especially with such lovely illustrations and a sizeable section of references and further reading following the (too short!) conclusion.
Wow, this was such a fun book! I loved all the strong and iconic women presented as showstoppers with fashion and their personalities. The images were crafted beautifully, giving live and vibrancy to the stories and women.
Bad Girls of Fashion by Jennifer Croll was such a fascinating take on history!

As a teenage girl who's deeply interested in fashion, this book is definitely worth taking a look. With old photos, short biography stories and the graphics, this book is basically a small handbook about fashion history. When it's published, I'll definitely get one for my little sister.
