I know many people who loved Samantha Chase's books, so I was excited to finally sit down and give one a try! This book consists of two unrelated novellas. My favorite was Mistletoe Between Friends because I love fake dating and childhood best friends, so when those two tropes play out simultaneously I'm one happy girl. Cam is also a nerdy scientist, which I loved. Lots of boxes checked for me! Their story was very cute, super festive, and heartwarming. The Snowflake Inn was also nice, but not as enjoyable for me as the first one. I just don't love the rivals/enemies-to-lovers trope, so I kind of knew going in that I was not going to like this romance as much. It's also a bit more dramatic and angsty to me. But it was fine! I enjoyed Samantha's writing style and the festive settings. I also loved that spicier moments were kept behind closed doors. Sometimes that's just what I want!

No one writes Christmas romance like Samantha Chase. If you're looking for a holiday romance read - don't miss this book. The holidays are always better with stories from Samantha!

his charming duo of books by Samantha Chase both center around the holidays and are perfect for those cold winter days sitting around the fire or in my case the warm winter days sitting out by the pool! Either way, they were both quite enjoyable sweet romances.
Mistletoe Between Friends 4 stars
Friends to lovers is one of my favorite romance troupes and what I loved about Mistletoe Between Friends is that the two friends couldn’t be more different. He is a brilliant scientist with a highly demanding and steady job and she’s a free spirited artistic type that flits from passion to passion, working jobs for only a short time. They’ve been friends all their lives, they’ve shared everything about their lives and their mother’s are both driving them crazy with talk of settling down and fixing them up constantly. With the holiday’s around the corner and desperate for one without constantly being set up they decide to fake a romantic relationship; what they both don’t know is the other has secretly wanted the other as more than friends for a long, long time. This couple had a lot of ups and downs trying to get it right, but I thoroughly enjoyed the story, however I for the life of me can’t understand parents who push their children into getting married when they are only in their mid 20’s. What’s wrong with living and enjoying the single life while they are young? Other than that, it was a sweet, fun story with some great flirting and teasing leading to simmering sensuality and a pretty fantastic ending.
Snowflake Inn 4.5 stars
I thoroughly enjoyed this story of two strangers, both at a crossroads in their lives finding love and home at The Snowflake Inn, a bed and breakfast owned by the hero’s mother and the heroine’s new friend. Both these characters are scarred from events in their lives and as one repairs the relationship with his mother, the other one is hoping to find a permanent home. I loved the instant chemistry between these two and how hard they fought to stay apart because they were on opposite sides of an issue. It was interesting watching them fall for one another, to see their feelings increase with each day and realizing they both wanted the same thing out of their new life.

Mistletoes Between Friends/The Snowflake Inn is a Christmas duology. It was one of those books where one of the stories was much better than the other. I really quite liked The Snowflake Inn. I thought the storyline and the characters were well thought out and it was an enjoyable story to read. The ending was a little rushed, and didn't quite seem believable but it is set at Christmas so I'll let them off.
I really didn't get on with Mistletoe Between Friends, I didn't really like the characters or the story. Most the time I wanted to smack the two main characters heads together.
Shame about the fade to black in both stories. All that build up of sexual tension then nothing.

Mistletoe Between Friends
Lily and Cam grew up together. Best friends. Now they make fun of the dates that their respective families foist upon them. Now, with the holidays approaching, they hatch a plan to pretend to be together. It's all fun and games until the mistletoe attack. Things just got real. What will happen when the deadline for their fake relationship arrives.
Snowflake Inn
Riley comes home to suggest his mother sell her home and business. He wants nothing to do with the aging Inn and believes that his mother is shackled to the property. All he wants is for his mother to be taken care of like she has been doing for others as long as he can remember. What he doesn't count on is the feisty cook living in the basement. Grace is beautiful despite her unwelcome advice. Can she convince him that the Inn is more than a burden? Can she make him stay?
Both stories are welcome distractions on a cold winter day. They will keep you toasty warm while your coffee grows cold on the table.
