Roadside Assistance is the second book in the adult contemporary romance series, Body Shop Bad Boys by Marie Harte. I did not read the first book in the series, but I was never lost or confused. Each of the books in the Body Shop Bad Boys can be read as a standalone. And can I just say how much I love this series name. I think it is hilarious. I want to get myself a body shop bad boy ;) Roadside Assistance was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed this book.

In Roadside Assistance, we meet our main characters Cynthia and Foley. Cynthia and Foley have kind of a hate at first sight thing going on, but even with Cyn's dislike of Foley, they clearly have a ton of chemistry and attraction. I liked their overall journey because it was not all smooth sailing. They had more than a few bumps in the road for them, but in the end it all worked out nicely.

I really liked Foley. It is a big teddy bear underneath all that grease. He may not be the most polished or sophisticated guy, but he is a good guy. I loved his relationship with his mother. This book had a lot of heart, great chemistry and fantastic dialogue. I am very interested in picking up more books from Marie Harte in the future.

I have read all four books in the Body Shop Bad Boys series and just now able to sit down and write reviews. As such, I can say that Foley and Cyn's story is my favorite. Foley is a wonderfully written character with a personality that is more than skin deep. He has emotional layers that add to his charm. He's more than just a rough, tattooed mechanic. He was raised by a very strong woman who instilled manners and virtues including loyalty and protectiveness. He knows how to treat people, especially those he loves. The author does a fantastic job giving Foley real and believable emotions, opening him up to the readers.

Growing up wasn't nearly as wonderful for Cyn, however. Cyn grew up in an environment full of body shaming, insults, and condescension, nice enveloped with a smile. Moving away from the abuser is just one method of self-preservation deployed by Cyn. Swearing off men is just another mechanism Cyn uses to keep her sanity. She is a smart and strong woman that has endured a lot. Her development throughout the book is done so well, including mention of seeing a therapist. Sometimes you just can't work through your issues alone or with friends/family. You need an objective , outside person to talk to about the problems - family and friends are too close to the situation and tend to be more subjective.

The connection between Foley and Cyn is instant. He may not be exactly what she was looking for but Foley is exactly what Cyn needed in a man. Their reaction to one another and the feelings they have toward each other clearly blindsided them both and I loved their journey. Their chemistry is off the charts and realistically written. Despite her hardships growing up, Cyn is a nice, pleasant, down-to-earth person. Despite Foley's rough-and-tumble exterior, he's a sweetheart. They are a wonderful couple and I very much enjoyed their story.

I really enjoyed the secondary characters throughout the story. We met several of them in Test Drive, book 1 and the author did a great job adding a few more to the mix. I love the interactions between the secondary characters and Cyn and Foley.

The story is engaging from the beginning and kept me captivated. The romance between Cyn and Foley is sweet and hot and I enjoyed the progression of their relationship. I really enjoyed the moment Cyn stood her ground and verbalized the abuse she endured at the hands of someone who was supposed to love and support. The plot was well thought out, organized, and perfectly paced. The Body Shop Bad Boys series is a winner!

Love this series! I enjoy the way Marie Harte tells a story, and I really enjoy her characters. Plus, there's wonderful sexiness going on, so that adds to the entertainment value of this book. I enjoy the heart and humor the author brings into the story. Foley is a tattooed, sexy mechanic, who meets Cynthia (Cyn), and doesn't know what hit him! Cyn is sassy and independent, but she has some body issues because she has curves and Cyn has a complicated relationship with her mother. Cyn and Foley can't deny the intense pull they feel for each other, but they have some obstacles in their way; especially when Sam, Foley's best friend, starts acting like a douche. I loved the connection between Cyn and Foley, and Foley is wonderful! They have some hot times together, and they are too cute! Super entertaining story! Loved the whole thing! Excited for the next book!

It is hard to put into words how much I loved Marie Harte’s Roadside Assistance; the hero is on the crude side but has a heart of gold, the heroine is successful and sassy but even in her 30’s is dealing with her mother’s verbal abuse, the feelings that developed between them surprised them both, and the secondary characters added so much fun, some colorful commentary and a bit of tension. All of these things rolled together made Roadside Assistance a perfect romance.

Rough and tumble mechanic Foley Sanders meets his match when entrepreneur Cynthia (Cyn) Nichols takes him to task over some illegally parked cars and spikes his interest. While Foley is determined to have Cyn in his bed; she’s sworn off men and he’s determined to make her change her mind.

Lord help me but I do so love a man who speaks his mind even when most of what comes out of it would probably be considered rude and socially unacceptable. Foley is a simple guy; he loves his work as a mechanic, he enjoys spending time with his friends at the local watering hole drinking and playing darts and he loves the ladies (lots and lots of ladies). Foley also loves his mother who he will protect to his dying day and his best friend Sam whom he considers a brother. From the minute he meets Cyn he can’t get her off of his mind and the more time he spends around her the more he begins to realize how special she is and he realizes that despite their agreement for something casual and short term, he can’t imagine not having Cyn in his life.

At first I wasn’t sure how I felt about Cynthia and how defensive she was over her weight, but as her story unfolded I was surprised she wasn’t a more bitter and hateful person. I loved that despite her education and the fact that she was very secure financially not once did she look down her nose at Foley or any of the guys he worked with at the garage. In fact, she fit in remarkably well with the very interesting and diverse group. She wasn’t shocked by their language and she had no problem getting in and mixing it up with them.

Family, friends and personal issues all add some complications to their burgeoning relationship and while they have a few rough spots I appreciated that their communication skills were good and they both were good at accepting responsibility and apologizing as necessary; in other words they acted like adults in their relationship.

From start to finish this book made me smile, made me swoon, made me tear up and made me want to reach for my husband; every time I read a Marie Harte book I feel like I’m among friends and Roadside Assistance was no different. While I’m giving it 5 stars this book it deserves more and it is one of my favorite books of this year and I can’t wait to see what Ms. Harte has in store for Latin lothario Lou and the combative Sam!
