I really like the boundry magic series by Melissa F. Olson and this book was another great addition. I do find the beginnings to be a bit dragging but by the end I'm quickly flipping pages, eager to find out what happens next. I would recommend anyone interested in Fantasy books who don't mind a bit of vampire and werewolf sprinkled in. I did find this book compared to the others a little tougher to get into initially. I would however still recommend soldering through it and finding out happens.
Hands down this is my very favorite Boundary book. I hope to see more added to this series. I love Lex. She is loyal and brave. She honors her word and fights for what is right as she learns her place in the world as a witch that she is only just now learning she is. I devoured this book and can't wait for another by this author.
This is one of those books I requested on NetGalley without checking if its part of a series first. Of course, with my type of luck, it is indeed the third book in a series. I tried multiple times to read this book but I couldn't really get into it, because I was missing too much for my taste, but I also don't want to read the previous two books, because their synopsis sound not like I will like those two, the synopsis of the third book - so, this one - I did like, which is the reason I requested without checking first.
Sadly, I have to call it quits now and move on. I'm sure this is a good book, but I can't really say much about it, so it won't get a rating from me, just the label "dnf"
I would like to thank NetGalley, 47North, and Melissa F. Olson for an advanced copy of Boundary Born for an honest review.
The third book in the Boundary Magic series, I feel that reading the series in order helps you understand the characters as they grow. Lex is kept very busy not only still learning how her boundary magic works, but trying to save Boulder CO from a war between the witches and vampires. With head vampire Maven down after a vicious attack it falls to Lex and her allies to find the culprits. I definitely recommend Boundary Born by Melissa F. Olson.
