Reminiscent of Suze Orman's "Money Book for the Young, Fabulous, & Broke", "Get a Financial Life" lays out a clear financial plan for young people. The author defines finance jargon in easy to understand terms. She addresses the nearly impossible financial situation most young people are finding themselves in with practical advice - no health insurance? try to get on your parents' or your domestic partner's employer-provided insurance plan. Beth Kobliner is surely knowledgeable, understanding of a tough economic environment, and able to succinctly explain a plan of attack for personal finances from high interest rate credit cards to saving for retirement.
It is a totally recommendable book, very well written, well structured with advice worth considering. All financial advice is welcome and necessary, and this book must be considered by young adults as a priority, as it takes years to accumulate reasonable retirement capital and all medical care that comes with old age.
It becomes even more important because the school does not teach us financial education, it takes us longer to digest, plus we live in times of change as the recent economic crises and the disappearance of pensions that have led to a retirement crisis.
This book provides the tools to develop and increase financial intelligence, to build economic security, solve many doubts and provide suggestions on a wide range of related topics.
Beth Kobliner provides accurate, practical, necessary, comprehensive and easy-to-understand information so that young people can improve their financial lives. Since this topic is very extensive, the author also provides a list of recommended readings to expand and deepen each topic of interest.
I would have loved to have received a book like this in my twenties, surely it would have made a difference in my finances and would have made my life easier.
My gratitude to the Publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to review the book
