I didn't mean to read this series out of order, it just happened that way. WEB OF SECRETS is the third book in this series, but I'm happy to say it stands alone. I haven't read any of the first two books. Yet.
Becca is tough. She has to be, because she holds a boatload of secrets inside. No one knows the horrific stuff that has happened to her--that will happen to her if the monster finds her before she finds him. I liked Becca and I seriously hurt for her.
Connor is definitely attracted to Becca but she is so not his type. Yes, he's a homicide detective, but he knows how to have fun and shake off the stress. A big flirt, he can turn it on and off at will. I liked him, despite his he-man tactics he employed without warning.
I would love to read a story about Taylor and Jack but that might be out there and I just haven't read it yet. I'm working through my backlog of books in between more current ones.
This book is mainstream as in there is no faith message, but it is clean and there aren't any swear words. Fans of Susan Sleeman won't be disappointed. A bit more gruesome and a lot creepier than her Love Inspired Suspense. But very good. I couldn't put it down. Don't miss WEB OF SECRETS.
I was given a copy for free off netgalley. All opinions are my own.
