ARC received in exchange for an honest review..
I really do like this author's writing style and I enjoyed reading this book but I think I would have liked it more if I had read the previous books in this series first.
Even though the book states that this can be read as a "standalone" I really felt that I was starting in the middle of the story. Any reader who start with this one first certainly doesn't have all the history on other characters contained within this book and the overall feeling I had was that I was getting a small part of a bigger picture.
So my advice is start with book one as this was well written with a good narrative, storyline and characters that held my interest.

Walker Security series is the continuation of the Tall Dark and Deadly series. Kyle works for the Walker brothers and they are working to take down Michael Alvarez a purveyor of drugs and human trafficking. A key reason for their involvement is the possibility that one of their operative's (Kara) sister, Myla, may be alive and under his control. Kyle is going in undercover as a bodyguard to someone close to Alvarez. That someone turns out to be Myla.

I really enjoyed this book and it kept me engrossed throughout. I really loved the characters and the way they interacted with each other. This is a fun, hot, romantic must read book and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.
Let me start by saying I think I just read a book that had everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This book is written in dual POV my personal favorite and flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it.

I really enjoy this authors books, she knows how set a story up. The action and romance is both suspenseful and proactive. Kyle has been searching for over a year for Myla, the sister of a team member whom they believed to be dead, when he finds her to be still alive, he sets it up for him to go in undercover to be a body guard for the Mob boss, Alvarez. What he wasn’t expecting is that he is to protect the very woman he has been looking for. After hearing all the stories about her, watching video of her he just knew she was meant for him. Now if only he can convince Myla to trust him, that he is the good guy. Can Myla trust Kyle not to turn on her the way all the other men in Alvarez’s employment have done? I love that the author gives us POV for both characters. I love how Kyle is with Myla in privet and a complete jerk and unmovable with others. I liked how Myla had stayed so strong to stay alive and how her main objective was to save other woman, so they don’t have to live a life as a slave. If you enjoy stories with action, suspense, and super sexy hot alpha males, then this is a great series for you.

The story started off nicely and hooked the reader but then it became very unreal, slow and predictable.

Deep Under is sexy and suspenseful with a caring, protective alpha hero and a strong survivor for a heroine. Kyle saw the footage of Myla's death but ever since he hasn't let go of his hope that Myla is still alive, and he's bound and determined to find her. When he goes undercover in Alvarez's organization as a bodyguard, imagine his surprise when he finds Myla is the person whom he will be protecting.

As Kyle protects her, he falls for her and she becomes far more than just a job for him. But, can he trust that she's really a survivor of Alvarez's control and wants to escape? Or is she really Alvarez's woman as Alvarez insists? Soon Myla learns to trust Kyle with not just her life, but her heart, too. Their connection is deep and electric, and their intimate scenes are hot!

If you like your romance with doses of suspense and action, and steam enough to satisfy all of us smut lovers, Deep Under should just hit the spot!

I received this ARC for an honest review. I have been a fan of Lisa Renee Jones for many years. I couldn't wait for this book. I was not disappointed. Kyle and Myla almost melted my screen. The chemistry was strong between the two. This book was well written, and you were pulled into the story. My only complaint is I wish it was longer. I did not want it to end.

I didn't see this as a book I could positively review, it may work for other people but it wasn't my kind of read.

Thanks for the chance.

Myla, working at a new job catches the eye of the owner, a member of the cartel and a very dangerous man, Michael Alvarez. With a sister in the FBI and her instincts warning her about Alvarez, Myla does everything she can to avoid him... unfortunately he doesn't take no for an answer.

Kyle has been on the trail of Alvarez and Myla for months, with an explosion that leaves her sister thinking she is dead, Kyle is not ready to give up...

I really wanted to like this book, but it just didn't hold my attention. While the writing was well thought out and good, there was just so much dialogue. The conversations between characters tended to be monotonous, and they were constantly interrupting each other as a result.

I enjoyed the characters, Myla is one tough chick, while I don't want to give away spoilers, she does what she has to do, but is also doing much more than just surviving. Kyle is sexy, tough, smart and great at what he does.

The premise of the story was interesting, but the book just seemed to focus on the mundane aspects of the story and the action parts were few and far between.

I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.

Deep under is yet another excellent read from Lisa Renee Jones, having thoroughly enjoyed the Tall Dark and deadly series we now meet Kyle an ex FBI agent working with Walker security, it's his mission to rescue Myla who has been held as a sex slave to a notorious criminal for over a year, Myla's sister is also an ex FBI agent who believes her sister is dead, Myra although very much alive knows her sister would be killed if she reveals she is still alive so she stays in this terrible relationship to protect those she loves.
Enter Kyle who is employed as her bodyguard, as soon as he establishes that Myla is he then makes plans to get her away from the villain of this story, so begins a thrilling story of passion love and above all trust between the two.
A great tale that I'm sure will be enjoyed by all. Thanks to net galley and publisher for opportunity to review this book.

Deep Under is the fourth book in the outstanding Tall, Dark, and Deadly series as well as the first book in the Walker Security books by author Lisa Renee Jones. After reading this novel, I have decided that I must read every book Ms. Jones has written! In Deep Under, we meet Kyle and Myla, two characters with such love and courage it took my breath away. They also face incredible danger and intrigue that I literally chewed most of my nails off. It was amazing! I loved it! I did voluntarily review an Advance Reader Copy of this novel.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

“Deep Under” Walker Security #1, Tall, Dark, and Deadly #4 is by author Lisa Rene Jones.
My Rating: 4

Deep Under is book one in the Walker Security series. This novel is also interconnected with the Tall, Dark, and Deadly series. It is a crossover novel. I have not yet read any of the other books. That said, this book is a standalone. And although I did have some curiosity regarding relationships with the secondary characters, I was easily able to follow along with no problems.

Kyle and Myla…..

The book opens with a prologue going back 14 months. It is here we infer that Myla will be abducted by a powerful cartel boss. But we don’t get any details until Myla has flashbacks throughout the following chapters.

Myla has been the ‘kept’ woman of one of the FBI’s most dangerous and elusive criminals. She has had to close her mind off to her true emotions in order to survive the horror of Michael Alvarez; a despicable excuse for a human being. After 14 months with Michael, Myla gains a tiny bit of trust from him. Of course that bit of trust is questionable. Non existent actually. Michael trusts no one. Even so, Myla is finally allowed a little bit of freedom; not really. That is of course as long as her new bodyguard stays close. But not too close.

Kyle is a member of the Walker Security team. An elite team of former military and FBI. Since Myla was kidnapped, Kyle could think of nothing but finding her. He never actually met Myla but he feels a strong connection. When Kyle goes undercover, taking the role of a bodyguard, he is not a little shocked to learn that it’s Myla he his guarding. Kyle is thrilled but cautious. He knows what could happen to both of them if his cover is blown.

It’s not easy for Myla to trust her new bodyguard; even if he does make her feel safe. And for very real reasons, Kyle must tread carefully albeit slowly before revealing himself. There are a whole lot of complications is this book.

There is a lot of suspense and angst. Just waiting for the ‘proverbial’ shoe to drop made for many tense moments. Since this is a romantic suspense, I won’t give away and spoilers. I will say for all the angst and worry, the climax was a bit rushed; but no less satisfying.

I really liked this book and definitely plan to read book two in the Walker Security series which is Asher’s story.
