When Kieran meets Fiona and EVERYTHINGGGGG is about her. Sarah knocked this one out of the park and by far my favorite of the series. It was so nice to dive back into the Kavanagh family, I sure did miss them.
Simply so much love for this!
Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.
Whew - Robinson has another great Kavanagh story on her hands. In book 2, we follow Kieran, the incarcerated brother, as he is released from jail and almost immediately comes face to face with the love of his life. But Fiona has her own baggage. For one, she's the sole caretaker of her Autistic sister (who by the way, is completely adorable). She also has a bit of history in term of how that came to be.
Their relationship is one that builds slowly, each not to sure of how they should proceed, but when they finally come together, it's magic. Their pasts, while they could have ruined them, actually made them absolutely perfect for one another. I know I was a bit skeptical about the first book, but this one really changed my mind. The family is extremely close, even as they're trading barbs with one another, and it really helped create a great background for Kieran and Fiona's story.
LOVE THIS SERIES!!!! I've read them all and couldn't put them down!!!! The Kavanagh men are amazing and HOT!!! Once I started reading I couldn't stop..
The writing is really great, and I enjoy the banter between the Kavanagh clan. The Kavanagh clan is vocal, they love to call out each other and argue, but they all would do anything for anyone they consider family. That's where this book shines! Kieran made some mistakes when he was younger, and he paid for them by going to jail. He has just been released, and is trying to get his life together, when he meets Fiona. Fiona has a lot of responsibility that closes her off to any type of romantic relationship, and despite her show of independence she is really flailing. Fiona did get on my nerves at times, but I do like her, and I liked her story. Kieran is great, and I liked that he doesn't play games, and goes for what he wants. There's some sweet and sexy times between these two, and each of the characters gains some clarity as their relationship grows. The dual POV was really helpful in connecting with each of the characters. Good interesting story, and I look forward to the next book in this series.
**My thanks to NetGalley and Random House, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**
Although this is the second book in the series, i have not read the first and did not feel like i needed to.
Kieran has just been released from prison and only two days later he meets Fiona in her flower shop and instantly seems to know that she will be the woman for him.
Most of the problems lay on Fiona's end and how she pushes away, especially as she is guardian to her little sister who has Autism. Kieran is very good with Shea (Shay) and helps Fiona over come some things whilst also giving her a loving family and friends for support that she didn't realise she needed.
Kieran is a strong man raised in a very close Irish family who simple accept Fiona. He is persistent in fighting for what he wants and goes and slow as Fiona needs, but pushes when he needs to in order to break through her defences.
Its a well written story that had me wondering right until the end some of the missing details in Fiona life.
Saving a Legend by Sarah Robinson was a great story! This is another look at the Kavanagh Family and is so well written. The main characters Kieran and Fiona have things in their pasts to get through before they can have a relationship together. I enjoyed it and highly recommend it. Good job Sarah Robinson.
I love Sarah's books but I can give this a ne a five star. It's not that I didn't like it, it's just that it wasn't as strong as I had hoped. I found the lead man annoying to the point of putting the kindle down and walking away. I would recommend this book as it is okay. It just wasn't my favourite from her.
4.5 stars
I’m a sucker for romance series that revolve around big families so Sarah Robinson’s Kavanaugh Legends drew me in from the start. Saving a Legend is a story of redemption, of sacrifice, forgiveness and of fierce love and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.
Kieran Kavanaugh has made mistakes including one that he served two year in prison for, now out on parole he is ready to move on with his life and make amends to the family he loves dearly. He knows he has a tough road ahead, but he is will to do whatever it takes to get his life and family back. What he doesn’t expect is two days home to find a woman that intrigues him and makes him want more than he ever dreamed of.
The last few years of Fiona Doherty’s life have been beyond difficult; opening her own business, her mother’s violent death and getting custody and being the guardian of her 8 year old sister Shea would be a lot for anyone but add in the fact that Shea has autism spectrum disorder and 23 year old Fiona is just trying to hang on.
First off I have to say that from the start I liked Kieran a lot and yes he has made mistakes for which he has paid dearly, but underneath it is obvious there is a good man. I admired the way he accepted his fate but made the best of his community service and the way he tried to engage Shea from the moment he met her. As someone who has worked with children on the autism spectrum for years not only do I applaud Ms. Robinson for writing this characters, but I applaud her for showing how each day is different, each experience different and how important routine and stability are in their world. I did not feel their connection at first; Kieran was a bit crazy in his pursuit of Fiona and while she put of a good front it was easy to see she liked having his attention but over time it became evident that both had some pretty serious feelings going on. I liked that she appreciated they way he engaged and treated Shea and her acceptance of him.
The entire Kavanaugh clan was front and center for a lot of this book which is expected since they can’t seem to stay out of each other’s business and lives. The way they accepted Fiona and Shea into their lives and gave them the support they needed was a testament to the way this family works.
I wasn’t thrilled with the way both Kieran and Fiona handled their pasts with one another or Fiona’s rush to judgment, and while I could understand their reasoning it still didn’t set right with me especially given their circumstances. This and this alone is why I couldn’t rate this book 5 stars.
Sarah Robinson offers up another engaging, entertaining and heartfelt story in Saving a Legend and I am very much looking forward to the next book in this fantastic family series.
