All of Jennifer Estep's books are fun to read, and this character in particular. Gin is a serious assassin who has come up in the world since book 1 in the series, but her sharp wit is the same as ever. It was nice to see Gin and Finn get out of the city and go to a new place.
This is a series I never tire of . the Author's skill at keeping a long running series fresh is something only very
few can achieve.
Gin Blanco is endlessly fascinating and her evolution is a fun ride. Despite all the obstacles, she's still true to herself.
The introduction of the secret Circle that controls the Underworld has given another element
to the storylines - just what effect will they have on Gin and her cohort ?
The setting in a Wild West park provides much entertainment until Gin spots the Vampire that told
her about the Circle - is this a coincidence ? or is there another explanation ??
The Author manages to produce fast paced action along with vivid characters and banter that entertains a reader
I've been a fan of the Elemental Assassin series for a long time. And even though there have been some ups and downs, Ms Estep has breathed new breath into the series with the introduction to the Circle. After the first several books focusing on Mab Monroe and then serveral books just kinda floundered without any solid direction, The Circle gives Gin a new target... several of them in fact.
I found the setting of this book to be fun, albeit cheesy from time to time. The Old West theme part and luxury hotel was a nice change of pace from Ashland. At leastGin brought along friends and family for something familiar.
Ms Estep upped her game by creating some new fantastically evil villains for Gin to fight and this time it wasn't one ridiculously strong elemental. Gin had to come up with some new ways to fight her foes.
There's a touch of romance and a lot of action. From time to time, it's a little too gory for my tastes, but I tend to skim past the grizzly fight details.
All in all, I think the series is in an upswing and I can't wait to learn more about The Circle.

I had to give up on this series, the phrase repetition got SO ANNOYING. I just couldn't handle it anymore.
When Finn, Gin’s foster brother, inherits a Wild West theme park resort, she agrees to go with him and their respective partners to check it out. After all, Gin is still reeling from the knowledge that there is a secret group called the Circle that is really controlling the underworld, and Finn still is grieving after killing his mother to save Gin.
At first, the theme park appears to be good hokey fun, until Gin notices familiar figure – the same vampire that told her about the Circle. Then they discover that Finn’s mother had placed a packet of expensive jewels somewhere in the park and turned it into a treasure hunt for the guests. Lastly the theme park’s manager, Roxie, looks oddly like the assassin Gin encountered just before she left town.
Estep writes vivid characters and action scenes. The banter between Gin and Finn sounds genuine, like real back-and-forth between siblings. Gin’s battles with the bad guys are choreographed carefully and can be followed step by step. Even this far into the series, the stories are still fresh and interesting.
Unravled is another fantastic installment of the Elemental Assassin series. The entire series has pulled me in and kept me engaged from the very beginning. These are the types of books that have me longing for the next one. They are written with vivid descriptions and genuine feelings, allowing the reader to become totally immersed in this world.
This adventure finds Gin, Finn, Owen, and Bria headed out of town to Bullet Pointe, a Wild West theme park. After the fallout of book 14, Bitter Bite, Finn learns he inherited the theme park from his mother. The last time Gin took a vacation was several books ago and she's highly due for another one. However, Gin really should know better - nothing good ever comes out of going on vacation. When Circle assassins appear throughout the park Gin knows that Bullet Pointe isn't all fun and games.
Even after 15 novels in this series, Jennifer Estep knows how to keep the stories engaging and interesting. I've been a fan of the entire series. I've rated all of the books 4 or 5 stars. These are the types of books that have me longing for the next one. They are written with vivid descriptions and genuine feelings, allowing the reader to become totally immersed in this world. The world building continues and we learn a bit more about Gin's mother.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of Unraveled provided to me by the publisher through NetGalley.
Unraveled is the latest adventure in Estep's Gin Blanco series, and this book proves once again why this is one of my all time favorite series. The book starts with Gin trying to get intel on this mysterious Circle and her new enemy, Hugh Tucker. Gin is also trying to help her foster brother, Finn, cope with the loss of his mother and the fact that his mother hadn't been who he had hoped her to be. So when Finn mysteriously inherits an Old West theme park, a weekend getaway sounds just about right. Naturally things don't go as planned, and Gin and friends find themselves searching for missing jewels as well as a battle for their lives.
One of my favorite parts of this series is the relationship Gin has with Finn. From book one, these two just had such a special connection and I absolutely loved seeing Gin helping Finn with his grief and both remembering Fletcher. Unraveled definitely deals with the past in this book as Gin also regains some memories of her own mother and their last Christmas together. I loved how Estep used this "fun" theme park idea to bring up not just the past but also some great action as well. Estep really knows how to combine action, adventure, mystery, family drama, and humor.
I also liked seeing the secondary characters like Owen, Bria, and Silvio back as well. I love when series have a great ensemble cast where the reader is invested in all of the characters like this one. Unraveled definitely tests all the characters and it proves to be very hard to put down. It also opens up a new mystery at the end leading into the next book. Overall, Unraveled was an amazing read that I would most definitely recommend. I look forward to reading Gin's next adventure.
