I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

This has been on my TBR pile for so long, and I'm glad I finally got around to it. I really enjoyed the storyline and seeing the characters change throughout the story was a great character development. The plot was great and kept my attention. I'm glad I got the chance to read this and will be on the lookout for more in the future!

I loved her Blue is for Nightmare series. And I certainly love mysteries and thrillers.

I just cant stand this book. It’s awful. Seriously, a girl falls in love with a murder suspect? What?! Iy just doesn’t make sense to me. There’s also no character development. The guy was basically an asshole and the girl was just weak. Bleh.

A pretty quick read. Slightly predictable but still enjoyable. Julian's life was so hard to read about. He was actually surprisingly well-adjusted considering all he'd been through. Day's desire to do good like her parents was admirable. Her constant need to take pictures in sensitive moments got a tad annoying after awhile. I'd love to read a sequel to find out how it all ends. Also I'm curious as to how things work out for Day's friends. It's rare that an author can make me care about the supporting characters.

Day is an aspiring photographer, always taking pictures with her camera. One of her photos makes her cross paths with Julian a juvie escapee on the run from a murder charge. Sure that the boy in her pictures is innocent, Day sets out to help him and uncover the truth of what really happened.

I should have listened to my instincts when they were screaming at me to not read this book: Stolarz and I go back a long way. I didn't like her Blue is for Nightmares series; or Welcome to the Dark House (Return to the Dark House wasn't any better). I certainly didn't like the 4 hours I spent reading Deadly Little Secret only to be rewarded with a nonsensical ending.
For some reason I'm determined to like this author, but I clearly don't and never will. Her characters are whiny, annoying, insipid, stupid, and she doesn't even execute her plot competently enough to avoid the big gaping plot holes.
I tried; really I did.
