Thank you so much for the opportunity to review this book and to be an early reader via NetGalley! However, I will not be writing a review for this title at this time, as my reading preferences have since changed somewhat. In the event that I decide to review the book in the future, I will make sure to purchase a copy for myself or borrow it from a library. Once again, thank you so much for providing me with early access to this title. I truly appreciate it. Please feel free to contact me with any follow-up questions or concerns.
I had read two of these as individual novellas previously. I'm not a huge fan of novellas but since I had read all of the books in these series I read these. They were enjoyable enough. Still not something I think is always needed for a story. I liked Gavin and Liz's the best out of the three, stories. The other two were just okay. All in all a quick read and not a terrible addition to the series considering how I feel about novellas in general.
Thank you for the opportunity to review this title. Unfortunately, I found it difficult to connect to the story. As I didn't completely finish this book, I will not be publishing a review. We do not feature uncompleted books on the blog. Although this title didn't work for me, I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.
3 short stories that are hot and will get you in the Christmas spirit!! I love Christmas timed so these were a great for me. Especially since I love Jaci Burton and all her books!
Another fantastic book by Jaci Burton! It will certainly put you in the holiday spirit!
Loved it! Catching up with couples, plus something new! Perfection!
~ Book provided by NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion
Note: I haven't read any books in the Play by Play series yet, but I'm pretty sure all these short stories can be read as stand alones.
Holiday Games:
What could I possible say to Holiday Games, except for it's basically one giant-ass sex scene, with some bits of story here and there - and those weren't even interesting. If I had read the previous books in this series, I might have appreciated this story more, but as it is, I was not impressed by it.
After reading Holiday Games I just couldn't immediately continue reading the other two short stories of this book, so I put it aside for a while.
To be quite honest, I picked it up again a few hours ago and I just can't. I can't finish it. The writing style didn't keep me hooked and I'm not sure if I want to read the rest of the book, just to get disappointed by those stories as well. So I decided after a long internal battle - I hate quitting ARCs - to stop the struggle I have with this book and just call it a day. I won't continue reading it.
Should you pick it up, I hope you enjoy it. I guess Jaci Burton and me, we don't mix well. Maybe I should have read a book in Play By Play series first to fully be hooked to this series, but I highly doubt it.
