COWBOY TO COMMAND is the second full-length novel in Sabrina York's Stripped Down series. Although this series was new to me, I was able to follow this story without being confused at any point. Reading COWBOY TO COMMAND has me ravenous for the previous books that I missed out on the first time around. COWBOY TO COMMAND has so many elements that I love in a romance -- a sweet and sexy wounded hero, cowboys, great characters, and a fun pretend relationship that turns real.

Brandon Stewart is a former Navy SEAL who lost his leg while in the service. The loss of his leg was a huge blow emotionally, especially after enduring a harsh reaction from his brother. I like that Brandon is not a bitter man, despite his losses, and I like his easygoing and charming personality. Dancing nearly naked for ladies at the Double S Ranch provides the boost to his self-esteem that he needs. The drama involving Brandon and his brother provides a wonderfully revealing insight into Brandon's inner thoughts about his injury.

I like a nice guy and Brandon typifies everything that I yearn for in a hero -- he's sweet without being a pushover, strong without being overly aggressive, and he has a great sense of humor. When Porsche McCoy strikes a deal with Brandon for him to pretend to be sweet on her, in order to make the longstanding object of her affection jealous, it's not long before Porsche falls for Brandon instead. Although he didn't have to try very hard, I love that Brandon was smitten first and worked to woo Porsche. There isn't any bad guy or source of conflict in COWBOY TO COMMAND, but instead, the focus is on the main characters and their budding relationship.

COWBOY TO COMMAND is a sexy, fun romance, and a glorious bit of brain candy with engaging characters. The supporting characters in COWBOY TO COMMAND are intriguing and I hope to see them again in future books. I look forward to the next enticing romance by Sabrina York.
