I've read all the previous books in this series but even if I hadn't I would have given this a try because that whole woke up married in Vegas thing? Yeah I seriously love that shit♥️♥️💕🌈🙂. That baby momma drama whoa boy... His daughter was super cute though.
I know what you’re thinking, this isn’t a new release, it came out a few months ago. Well you’re totally right. But I have a valid reason for not reading and reviewing this book earlier and it’s this. I am a huge fan of the Danvers series, HUGE and knowing this was the final book in a favourite series of mine made me both excited to for a new novel but sad to see it end.
I admit to putting it off so I could keep thinking it just hadn’t been published yet and prolong the wait but it kept calling to me on my kindle and it got to the point that I had to read it, I couldn’t put it off any longer and after devouring it (PSA: NEVER start a Sydney Landon book after midnight or say goodbye to sleep like I did) I want to kick my own ass for waiting so long to read it because I ABSOLULETY LOVED IT!!!!
This book had me hooked from the opening pages till the end when I put it down with a contented sigh and okay maybe a tear in my eye. It was the perfect addition to an amazing series that I would recommend to all contemporary romance lovers.
Jake and Lydia are two characters that start a marriage under let’s say different circumstances but are a thousand percent perfect for each other and in true book romance style, their HEA is a long and twisty trail. but it’s so worth the trip. It was a pleasure to watch these two fall and fall hard for each other while navigating the ins and outs of real life and all that comes with it.
I totally loved these characters. There was just something about them that engaged me and kept me turning the pages long after I found myself reading the same paragraph twice because I was so tired. I just didn’t want to stop. I don’t know if it was Lydia’s spark or the sheer hotness that was Jake but either way I was hooked. Throw in Jake’s adorable little girl, Jake’s and Lydia’s reaction to her and total gonner.
One of the bonuses of reading a Danvers book is that the previous couples all make appearances and this was no different and there was more than once that the girls had me laughing out loud and wishing for girlfriends like them. It just made the book so much more fun. Plus, the epilogue was absolutely perfect for this series.
I should add that each book can be read as a stand-alone, but read one and you’ll be hooked.
This series is a favourite and will remain so long after I move onto another series. It’s one I will keep coming back to just because I can. Thank you, Sydney Landon, for bringing this wonderful cast to life.
