I love this series and On Broken Wings was like the icing on the cake. It was everything I could have wanted. Sexy and sweet and so heartfelt. I loved the emotion and intensity as well. I loved Dani and Easy and all their ups and downs. I loved it all! Exceptional read!

Ahhhhh, not going to lie, I was a little nervous for Easy's book, but it was one that definitely needed. If you've been with the series since the beginning then you're well-acquainted with Easy aka Alex Rogers. All I have to say was that Alex and Dani's relationship/friendship is rather complicated and I was curious to see how Chanel was going to write their story. And she did not disappoint at all!

I did not expect this story to go the way that it did, but it just worked out so well. They're both dealing with their own thing and being the best support for one another. We're well aware what Alex feels when it comes to Dani, but it takes a bit more time for Dani to recognize those feelings. And that's totally understandable.

Everything that happened between, it all just seemed right especially with the pacing of their story. I fell in love completely with both Dani and Alex and was just so eager for their happily ever after.

Honestly, I can't even come up with all the words to write this review. Just read the book because you will love their story. There's absolutely doubt about that!

I'm so sad this series is over and I hope Chanel goes back and writes more romance, she does a phenomenal job!

On Broken Wings was the book I wanted to read most in the Wild Aces series. As soon as I met Easy in Fly With Me and saw the chemistry he had with Dani I wanted to see their story. I knew it wouldn’t be simple based on circumstances, but I really wanted to see what was there for them. On Broken Wings did exactly that and more. I was pretty much an emotional wreck the whole book and I have never been happier. Just thinking about Dani and Easy and their relationship makes me smile and breaks my heart. It was everything I wanted their story to be and so much more. Truthfully I don’t want to say too much because I don’t want to give anything away, but this was by far my favorite of the series.

When Dani's husband died, it gutted me. I wasn't sure how she was going to move on in love. What she did have was her husband's best friend Alex (Easy) Rogers. Alex has always been there for her, but he holds a secret which is that he's in love with Dani. He also holds guilt for being in love with his best friend's wife. Both have their issues and it's not an easy road to have their HEA.

I loved Joker and it was hard to see Dani with anyone else, but Alex is perfect for her and I was able to fall in love with them together very easily.

Some of my favorite quotes:

"Don't you get it by now? There is no one else. There never will be anyone else. There's just her."

"Have you considered talking to her?"
"Are you joking? You were the one who told me I needed to lock this shit down."
"Yeah, I did. But you're terrible at it. At this point, I don't know how she hasn't realized you're in love with her."

"You're one of the best people I've ever known. It's an honor to be loved by you."

"This sounds a lot like you're trying to let me down easily. I don't want your gratitude, Dani. I haven't done any of the things I've done for you because I loved you; I did them because they were the right things to do. Loving you was extra."

"Go out tonight; give Easy a shot. Give yourself a shot. I saw you fall when those officers came to your door, and honestly, in the last year I've seen you stay there, on the ground, covered in your grief. I've seen you afraid to walk, to open up that door and face the world. I'm not blaming you . I don't know if anyone could carry the weight you've been handed and not crumple. But you have a future in front of you that's so fucking bright. Don't throw that away."

Adore this series and this author

Oh god, I was impatiently waiting for this book and all because the story between these characters was something too complicated that I didn't know how the author would handle it.

I'll start with Easy, I love this character! From the beginning he caught my attention and in this story I ended up loving him so much more, besides being sexy and funny (which we had already seen in the previous books) he was super sweet, sensitive and very beautiful, my heart broke in a thousand pieces for him several times, poor Easy! Now Danny, I suffered a lot with her and for her, her pain was very strong, but I loved to see how she came forward and didn't let herself be overcome by her pain or her loss. Obviously I loved seeing the characters from the previous books, although I would have liked to see much more of them, I feel that their participation here was the just the necessary.

The story had a very good development and caught me from the beginning; I could not stop reading because I wanted to know what would happen to these characters. There were certain things that happened that became quite predictable and sort of clichés but in spite of that I was very pleased. I really suffered with the pain of both characters, I didn't know how this story would have a happy ending and on several occasions I thought it would not. I was pleased to see how the characters overcome their problems, although a bit easy for me, but it was enough, they have suffered so much! At least something had to work out for them.

Every time it mentioned Joker, my heart was torn to pieces and I would remember several scenes from the first book. I honestly feel that the author could have taken much more juice out of this story and made her readers suffer even more, though not everyone enjoys as much drama as I do. It was not a bad story; in fact I just want to read it again! I liked it a lot and I couldn't stop laughing, sighing and crying a little, but there was something that I personally needed to be much better than it already was.

I highly recommend this series, at the same time I am sad that it has already finished but also I was dying to read this book, I assure you that you will not regret it, it is an amazing trilogy, not so light but not heavy, has its fair dose of fun, drama and crying that doesn't become overwhelming, plus there are super-sexy fighter pilots that you cannot pass up!

Dani was an Air Force wife and loved every minute of it because she loved her husband, Joker. However, tragedy struck and Joker died when his F-16 crashed. Dani not only lost her husband, but earlier she suffered a miscarriage. She was shattered and was comforted by Alex "Easy" Roger who was in her husband's squadron. He was always there as a shoulder to cry on and her rock. He's back from a deployment for a short bit and when she's at the store trying to pick out a paint color, she loses it because it reminds her of Joker and someone steps in to rescue her.....Easy. He helps her with her house and they become closer then they were. Is Easy the one that can help her move past losing Joker? Or will it trash their friendship if they take it further?

Alex "Easy" Rogers is a pilot in the Air Force of a F-16. When his commander/best friend dies, he's there to comfort his wife, Dani. However, it's pure torture for him to console her because he's secretly been in love with her for a while. When she needs his help again and they spend a good amount of time together, will he be able to tamper down his emotions for her?

This was such a sweet, captivating, sexy, and suspenseful book! Easy was so, well "easy" to fall in love with!! Every book in this series is amazing!! The stories give you just the right amount of love, sex, sweetness and an amazing story line!!

On Broken Wings is the third book in the Wild Aces series by Chanel Cleeton and to say I have been waiting for this one since the first book, Fly With Me, is putting it mildly. To get the full effect of their story I recommend reading this series in order because Easy and Dani’s story starts in book one even though things don’t happen until book three and heads up ladies you will need a box of tissues next to you when reading On Broken Wings.

It’s been a year since Dani Peterson lost her husband and after taking some time to grieve she is ready to make a fresh start and the beginning of that is to get the house they shared for a decade in selling order. While at the paint store picking out colors, Dani realizes she knows nothing about what to do or what to get so it’s a good thing when Alex “Easy” Rogers comes to her rescue and offers to paint before he is deployed again. While spending more time together Dani is starting to feel things she thought had been lost and buried with her late husband but is she ready to move on or will she let what might be a good thing pass her by?

Easy has been in love with Dani from the first moment he saw her only to find out she was married to his squadron commander, Joker. In hopes to get over Dani he has participated in many one night stands, but getting over her isn’t as easy as he thinks. After Joker passes away he wants to help Dani with anything she needs but hiding his true feelings for her is getting harder and harder and he knows she will never see him the same way. With his deployment nearing its time to see if maybe she could feel the same and after a few heated kisses, Easy knows that she has always been the woman for him, but will she be there in three months when he returns?

Once I started this story I couldn’t put it down, I had to know what was going to happen with Dani and Easy. From the beginning they came off as best friends and Easy was always there for her no matter what the situation. Ms. Cleeton delivers an emotion packed story that had me in tears the entire time and On Broken Wings was worth every drop.

Both Dani and Easy are both working on their grief in different ways and my heart really broke for these two. I really wanted them, no needed them, to find happiness once again and heal together. On Broken Wings is a dual pov story that captures not only every emotion and feeling these two characters are going through but also highlights their bond and their building relationship. I felt Ms. Cleeton did a really good job in showing the stages of grief and how painful it could be especially when they reach the stage of wanting to move on with their lives. They both were hurt by losing Joker and Easy wished it was him instead and Dani never thought this would happen to her since her and Joker were trying to start a family. really felt for Dani and how conflicted she was in wanting to move on yet not being there just yet. Easy was such a great guy and I felt bad he was just waiting in wings and not really living his life while holding on to this ever loving flame for Dani.

In all the ways I imagined On Broken Wings turning out it was this way that I hoped for and I can honestly say Ms. Cleeton kept the surprises coming over the course of the story. Is this the end of the Wild Aces series? I’m really hoping it’s not since there are a few new characters that are introduced and they sound interesting enough that I want to know more about them. If you’re looking for a romantic story full of emotions I highly recommend getting lost in On Broken Wings.

On Broken Wings was an overall good story but parts seemed a little slow paced. I enjoyed this installment as much as the predecessor's and look forward to the next in the series.

This was a fantastic addition to the Wild Aces Series. After the first two, I was sure looking forward to getting the story of Dani and Alex in this one. I was not disappointed. These two were wonderful characters and I loved seeing how their friendship turned to a sweet and hot romance. Loved this one!

I have been dying to get my hands on Easy's story since I started this series from Chanel Cleeton! I absolutely loved him and could see so much more beneath the surface when it came to his character. On Broken Wings was everything that I had been hoping for and more. I never wanted it to end, and I absolutely love this world that Chanel has created.

Easy has always accepted the fact that he would have to love Dani from afar. As the wife of one of his best friends, he knew that friendship was all he would ever get and he was fine with that as long as it meant Dani was in his life. But after Joker was killed, Easy was determined more than ever to be there for Dani in any way that she needed him. As the two grow even closer, his love for her grew stronger. Dani had never seen Easy as anything more than a close friend, but in the year since she lost her husband, she started to see him as she never had before. But can they let go of the past and the guilt they feel to have a chance at a future together?

My heart really hurt for both Dani and Easy. They had been through so much and each felt it so deeply. They really struggled with their feelings for each other and what that meant for not only their remaining connection to Joker, but also for their future. I loved that they had such a strong friendship and that their connection was so natural. These two just fit together and their relationship was independent of that which Dani had before with Joker. She was able to love and be loved by two amazing men, and no one deserved it more than she did. Easy was more that what you first see, and his love for Dani was unlike any I have seen before. It was unconditional and unwavering, and he is the kind of guy that every girl dreams of one day finding. Dani was sweet and kind, and so very strong. She is the kind of girl that you would love to be friends with in real life, and I just couldn't get enough of them.

Overall, it is so hard to pick a favorite book from this series as they are all fantastic, but On Broken Wings just might be my favorite. It was emotional and sexy, and everything and more that I had been waiting for. Easy and Dani are one of my all time favorite couples, and this series is one that is not to be missed! If you haven't read the previous books, this one can stand alone, but I highly recommend starting this amazing series at the beginning so as not to miss a single bit of it.

Chanel Cleeton has a way with engrossing me in a story. She takes characters with flaws and creates a tale that is emotional and endearing. On Broken Wings was a book I could not wait to read. Easy and Dani are two constant secondary characters in the Wild Aces series, two people dealing with heartbreak of different kinds. What I love is that this story is different. It is a love story that is a bit unconventional. Easy has been in love with Dani for years, secretly pinning over a woman he will never have, loving her from afar and being the supporter and friend she needs. Dani has dealt with every woman’s nightmare. She miscarried her son and lost her husband in a short span of time. This woman is resilient and her pain is vivid in this story. I found myself wanting to hold her and comfort her, to support her and tell her everything would be okay in time.

These two both have a major role in each other’s lives. They are best friends and have grown even closer together due to the tragedy of losing Joker. Cleeton does a brilliant job of sharing their grief, guilt, and emotions. I am not one for much angst but this angst is so emotionally evocative that you cannot help but feel it. Every hesitation and struggle is born from real emotions, not something inferred or misunderstood. Your heart breaks but you cannot stop drinking in the heartache and pain.

The beauty of Cleeton’s work is that there is beauty from the pain. Second chances abound. This book has so many heartfelt and sweet moments; moments of friendship and comradery. Love grows in the wreckage and hope blooms again. My one hesitation on this story going in was that it would be flippant in the emotional baggage these two are carrying into any relationship they start. But my hesitation was unfounded because Chanel Cleeton delivered a story that was deep, passionate, gut wrenching, and healing. She takes the reality of Easy and Dani’s future and gives the reader a book that is raw and stunning!

On Broken Wings is the third installment in the Wild Aces series and is the story of Dani and Easy. Dani knows what it’s like to lose everything. She miscarried the child she always wanted then lost her husband a few months later. Every day is a stuggle for her.
Easy has always lusted after Dani even though she’s forbidden fruit being married to his squad commander. Now he’ll do whatever it takes to make sure Dani is okay, even if it means his happiness. Dani doesn’t know that Easy has feelings of the romantic type for her. What will happen when she finds out?
This is the sweetest story. Make sure you have tissues on hand because you will cry! I loved the characters so much. My heart broke for Dani and I felt like I was feeling how sad she was right along with her. Easy is one of the best book boyfriends I’ve ever come across and I fell more in love with him as the story progressed.
Chanel Cleeton’s writing is phenomenal and I can’t wait to read more of her work.

I have enjoyed every single book in this series, but I think this one may be my favorite of them all. I've been looking forward to Easy's book for a while and was not the least bit disappointed. I loved the friends to lovers aspect and the touch of almost forbidden love.

The book starts out a year after Joker's death and his wife is still learning to cope with her new set of circumstances. She's trying to get herself pull together and move on, but she's not ready for some things. When Easy offers her some help in getting her house ready to go on the market, she accepts needing the help, but also needing a friend to spend time with.

Easy knows he has feelings for Dani, he just isn't sure what to do with them, believing that nothing can come out of them. But he wants to do what he can for him, and if that means helping her with the house or anything else she needs, then he's ready to do it.

But as they work together and grow closer, more than friendship blooms and they have to work through their feelings and decide how to proceed. It's not easy when you add in the mixed feelings of love and guilt, when you mix the past and the present and try to find a way to make it all fit. The path isn't easy for these two, and its full of so many things most couples don't have to do with, but written in such a way that it's still a beautiful story.

As with previous books in the Wild Aces, we get to see how close these men and their wives have become, how they have formed a tight knit family. Evident in how they support each other and try to be there in any way needed. I loved how this added to the story, because everyone knowing the history meant there was an extra feeling of what was at stake if these two didn't work out.

On Broken Wings was an emotional read, but even as I went through each emotion and as my feelings alternated from one scene to the next, I could feel the love that was there. There was so much more to this story than friends to lovers, more than moving on from loss. I enjoyed this book from start to finish, loving the journey from friends to more and watching as Easy and Dani came through it all.

Alex "Easy" has been in love with Dani since the moment he saw her years ago. Only problem is she is married to his commander in the Wild Aces. Easy was the close friend of Dani and her husband and was there for her when he died. A year later Dani is still racked with guilt over the death of her husband, and has turned to Easy to help her make it. Can Dani realize what everyone else knows, that Easy is head over heels in love with her? Is Easy ready to make the changes in life to be her man.

Great story, lots of feeling of love and guilt. Great look at realizing what til death do us part really means. Hope Cleeton writes more Wild Aces stories in the future.

4.5 ‘everything we wanted’ stars

“We got this, okay?”
“Okay.”

We’ve both loved this series. From book one to On Broken Wings, Chanel Cleeton has ensured we’ve been completely invested in her characters, readily taking them into our hearts and eagerly devouring their stories. Every book has been a winner. We’ve laughed, cried and swooned all the way through, and this was the one we had longed for, the one we were desperate to read. Whilst the Wild Aces series can be read as standalone’s, we’re happy we read all three books as each gave us an insight into each fighter pilot, Noah (call sign Burn), Eric (Thor), with so much heartbreaking insight into Alex (Easy) and Dani’s friendship throughout the series. Was Dani and Easy’s story everything we’d hoped for? It sure was!

‘Love was different once you’d known loss.’

From the outset, Easy had loved Dani from afar. She had captured his heart from the first time he met her, but Dani was married to Easy’s squadron leader and friend, Michael (Joker) and was definitely hands off because despite his gallivanting, Easy was not the type to chase after a married woman and he respected and loved Dani way too much to show his hand and let her know his true feelings, suffering an unrequited love after giving his heart to her completely.

‘I loved her, and loving someone was more about them than you, so it didn’t matter what I wanted.’

We’ve felt his desperation, longing and his love from day one and always hoped he would one day find a love that was returned and yes, we hoped it would be with Dani. This was one of our most anticipated releases this year, and we have to say, Chanel Cleeton delivered on this one. We absolutely loved it. Easy and Dani’s story is easily our favourite of the series!

Easy had been there for Dani every step of the way. He was her friend and greatest supporter. He’d been there for her during her best of times and her worst, painful times. When Joker was killed on duty, it was Easy who was there for Dani, he was her rock, but being so close to Dani, loving her as deeply and intensely as he did became too difficult for him and he backed away. However, as much as Easy tried to stay away, his feelings repeatedly led him back to Dani as her friend.

‘There was no wall now. Only emotion. So much emotion – raw and naked, staring back at me – more than I knew what to do with. ‘

On Broken Wings begins a year after Jokers death with Dani navigating through life without Joker which is hard when her future and all her plans revolved around Joker. Struggling to pick up the pieces, it is her friendship with Easy that lifts her and helps her face the day. He gets her, understands her and knows her pain. Easy has faced war and unimaginable challenges, but it is his feelings for Dani and laying his soul bare that would be his biggest challenge.

‘Some women slid under your skin so deep, you couldn’t carve them out no matter how hard you tried.’

The pacing to this story was perfect, the relationship built beautifully and believably and we especially appreciated how Chanel Cleeton never once disrespected the memory of Joker nor did she diminish Dani’s feelings for him in any way to ‘sell’ the love between Dani and Easy. Dani loved Joker with all her heart, but she had to move on. We’re lucky to find love once, finding it twice is a miracle. As their friendship evolves into deeper feelings our romantic hearts soared. Seriously, the ‘aha’ moment left us completely breathless. It was so beautifully crafted, so searing and emotional it gave us goosebumps and made us tear up, yet Chanel Cleeton didn’t make it easy on them in anyway, ensuring we felt every single moment!

‘My heart, my love, my life was somewhere out there, and I couldn’t rest until I knew he was safe.’

Spending time with these sexy, swoony, romantic and alpha fighter pilots, who put their life (and hearts) on the line and experiencing them finding love has been an absolute joy and it’s a series we’ve truly devoured, making it a definite TBB recommendation! Romance, emotion, passion and swoon with vulnerable yet alpha fighter pilots…..What could be better?

Do you know what it’s like to fall in love with a character from just the bits and pieces you get of him because he is a secondary character? I fell in love with Easy in book one. Hook, line and sinker, I loved him. I love how he loved. I just knew there was going to be a story like no other about this guy. And what a story it was!! It was heart breaking, heart warming, sexy and sweet!! It was EVERYTHING!!! ALL THE FEELS!! I loved this book so much!! Chanel Cleeton you complete me!!!

I started the Wild Aces series on a whim. For some reason I don’t read a ton of military. Honestly I’m not sure why because I love the idea/ concept of them and I have generally loved the ones I have read. Maybe I don’t read a lot of them because they don’t stand out to me? I’m really not sure. But when I came across the description for Fly With Me and the library happened to have a copy I figured it was meant to be so I started the series and once again I wasn’t disappointed. Did I love all 3 books equally? No. But I really did enjoy all three of them as a whole story putting all the pieces together.

Fly With Me – 4 Stars
I am a sucker for a Vegas weekend/one night stand story. I don’t know why, but I love them (especially if there is a drunken marriage, not this book, but in general). So Fly With Me was destined to rate high with me and it did. There was just something about Noah and Jordan’s story and their chemistry. You felt it right away and it never went away. I think about I loved about them the most was how adult they were about everything. They really talked things through and didn’t just fly off the handle. More romance books could use that. But really I loved their story and I loved how it all unfolded in the end.

Into the Blue – 3.5 Stars
I wasn’t as in love with Into the Blue as I was with Fly With Me. Don’t get me wrong, I thought it was fun and a good read, but I wasn’t as in love with Eric and Becca’s story. I loved Eric and his story. I loved how he was affected so much by something that happened in Fly With Me. It was Becca that I struggled with. There was something about her that just didn’t make me love her. I did love them together because I do love a good second chance, rekindled relationship story, but something was just a tad off. Still more than just liked it, but I think I just wanted more.

On Broken Wings - 5 Stars

Ok, so let’s get real here. This post is going to be Tonya and I gushing all over ourselves about how much we loved this book. I’ve been reviewing books for almost four years now and I cannot recall a book, much less a series that garnered this kind of across the board accolades. To be honest, it’s hard to live up to the hype generated in the book world but Cleeton has written an incredible series in the Wild Aces.

When I read the first book in the series, Fly With Me, I wanted Easy’s story as soon as possible. After reading it, I understood that time needed to pass for Easy and (hopefully) Dani. She needed time to mourn the passing of her husband and Easy just needed time to be himself. And to Cleeton’s credit, she didn’t make us wait too terribly long for Dani and Easy to gravitate towards each other. Let me clarify that, though. Easy and Dani always had a close friendship, so there has always been a deep connection between them. Easy has harbored more than friendly feelings for Dani, since the day they met.

Easy always carried the guilt of being in love with the wife of his commanding officer and was there when Joker died. He tries everything he can to move on with his life but finally realizes that she is IT for him. At this point, Cleeton gently leads Easy and Dani along into a relationship of sorts and soon their lives become undeniably connected. I have the utmost respect for Cleeton and this book because the coupling of Dani and Easy felt natural and right. Not to mention, sexy as all get out.

The Wild Aces series will go on my reread shelf, I have all three paperbacks and heck, I’ve read these books at least three times since they came out and they never get old. There is a part of me that wishes there were more books in this series but then I wonder if it’s just perfect the way it is.

This is such an incredible, heartfelt book, Cleeton knows how to reach in, grab my heart, squeeze it a bit and then make it all worth it.
