This book was very good at sharing stories (of which some are similar to others, so I skipped some of those) as well as the location of the haunted bridge, so that readers can specifically read about bridges near them.
I enjoyed reading this book but I would have preferred fewer bridges and more content. The author includes 300 haunted bridges across the US. The book is organized by type of haunting and then by state. Each bridge has a short description and if known, the story behind the haunting. This is the part I wished was expanded, I like reading about the people behind the haunting. I did appreciate the practical information about visiting the bridges. I also would have liked some illustrations. This book is a good starting point for visiting these haunted places. The writing style is easy to read and even humorous at times. I enjoyed seeing how many different ways he could say do not play in traffic on the bridges. Enjoy this haunting arm chair travel.
I love books on hauntings and ghosts, and this one is pretty awesome...especially since my great-grandfather’s ghost is in it!
I know so many people that will just eat this book up! The author mentions at the beginning that he realizes that many ghost stories are the same, so he prefaces the book with the idea that many of these stories are also going to be the same. A few stand out, but mainly because of stories that I have heard in my state, or when visiting small towns. Those definitely stood out! The author also has these separated by the type of story, so if you don't have any interest in a particular type of story, you can easily skip it.
I can't wait to have this in my hands instead of on kindle. It could be such a lovely hard back, like coffee book style, with old haunted pictures! I can give them all out for Halloween instead of Christmas! Great read.
I enjoy reading supernatural fiction and non-fiction and this book was one that caught my attention too. I think the cover is great as well as the content inside. It is a simple book that covers a range of haunted bridges all over America. The stories are very interesting and the book is well written
I was very disappointed in this book and had to force myself to read it. It just seemed so general as far as the information given and the information itself came off as if it could have just been made up by anyone in the spot. Perhaps trying to cover so many different areas didn't leave enough space for enough information to actually interest me.
If I had the urge to look for haunted bridges I would not even consider this book a guide at all. I hate to give bad reviews, and I am not going to post this review anywhere else because perhaps the book just wasn't to my taste, but someone else may find it useful.
