This one is powerful, deeply emotional book about taking your heart into focus and into gentle, accepting hands. These hands are yours - and these hands are Jesus's.
Christa Black Gifford knows what it is to be a Christian hiding secret sins and inclinations under the looks of a good girl and woman. She knows a lot of pain behind the broken heart. And she strives to have a real, living relationship with God - where one can feel the agonizing pain of life and the ever loving, healing presence of God. At once.
What I like about this book is a strong emphasis on real relationship with God. Yes, this is a very Christian message - yet in this book I feel it as a very authentic message. She also teaches about how to take a good care of your heart - accepting it and all of its emotions now, the way it is and you are, without shame. And then she invites you to invite Jesus into your heart to heal it - and to build a relationship based on opening your heart to Him. And she has a strong, wonderful stories to share as her personal experience here.
I am quite at loss to describe the message of this book - and it is probably inevitable, because while this is quite well-explained essage, it is also a message to be FELT.
I certainly am going to take my heart into better consideration now - as well as my relationship with Jesus.
