Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.

So this might be my favorite (after the first) in the series. Xander, big and strong and quiet, meets his match in Emma, the woman saved from Paulson's lab in book 1. Watching the two of them come together was fireworks and sweetness. There was tenderness and vulnerability and wow, heat.

I had to take a star off though, because I felt like a lot was left unresolved. Between the bad guys and Xander's father, I felt like things could have been wrapped up a little more.

This author has been compared to Rebecca Zanetti’s military romantic suspense.
It is quite a short read. It can be read as a standalone but it book 4 in the series so there are references to previous things from earlier in the series.
