A modern day fairy tale that's sweet, spicy and full of hope. A second chance romance that is sure to leave a smile on your face.
* First-time author for me
So I enjoy modern retailing of fairytales- they are, so fun to read. But I am not a big fan of second chance stories. They have to be done just right for me to enjoy them. This one is caught somewhere in the middle. I liked the fairytale part not so much the second chance part.
Leo and Alicia were lovers in the past, and it left Alicia heartbroken. Ten years later, these two meet again at a club filled with secrets and masks. Now that they are back together yet for a second chance, what will their future hold?
Heart-warming and sexy, “Diane Alberts” blazes into another a royal romance with a sure hit on her hands. Readers will laugh, swoon and grow to love every character in this amazing story. Really enjoyed “Diane Alberts” new book and can’t wait to read more from this author. Happy reading and I world totally recommend as well.
The Prince's Bride by Diane Alberts is Book 2 of the Modern Fairytales series. While this is part of a series it can be read as a standalone; I’ve only read this particular book and had no issues whatsoever in not having read Book 1. This is a second-chance/royal romance.
Wowzaaaaa this book starts right off with the hotness, gets you in your feels and holds you tight until the very end. Sweet, sexy and very enjoyable.

My favorite fairytale has always been Cinderella, so any retelling of it and I am first in line. The Prince’s Bride by Diane Alberts is such a retelling. Here we meet Prince Leopold, Leo, who has been searching for the girl he loved. Alicia Forkes is an American working in a foreign country. When she is out for the night, she has an incredible night with a sexy man in a mask.
But all hell breaks loose when Alicia realizes the man she had the most amazing encounter with is Prince Leopold, who once broke her heart. She will never let him do it to her again. But he is determined to show her second chances are possible. This was a quick and charming read. Alicia and Leo had a strong connection and sweet journey.
Happy reading!
I found this book a delight, a perfect read on my lazy Sunday.
Alicia is doing her best to tick off some items on her bucket list, she isn't dying though - but a dear friend did and set her up a list to get her living more! One item is to have a one night stand, and it's certainly hot when she does. Trouble is her one-night stand has repercussions she never imagined!
This one-night stand happens in a foreign country, a made-up country admittedly, with royalty and some strange rules. Yes, these rules are not PC, but who cares this is a romance and escapism!
Alicia is going nowhere until next month as she just happened to sleep with the prince and they need to know no heirs have been made...... Off the tower with her.... no not quite she has to stay as a guest in the castle, in the lap of luxury for a few weeks. She doesn't take this news very well added into that is the shock of who the prince is! Alicia is a great character, she is strong but soft and I loved how she said what she wanted, prince or no prince.
The prince, he works hard to win over Alicia, she is not happy about her surprise or being a guest in the castle. I liked him and kept willing him on.
The story is loosely set around Cinderella, a masked night club, a sneaker/trainer and of course the prince. As I said I found it delightful and will be diving into some more of this author's modern fairytales.
4 delightful stars
I just really enjoyed this book. It was just really easy to get lost in this book. I just couldn’t get enough of it and didn’t want it to end. I will definitely be reading more by this author.
4 - "Forever and always..." Stars!
Book two in Diane Alberts’ Modern Fairytales series takes the reader to Randovia where Prince Leo and commoner Alicia Forkes steam up the palace windows after one unplanned interlude in a night club corridor breaks all sorts of royal protocol, and brings them back together after a ten year separation.
"Your laugh… It’s haunted me all these years, and hearing it now… It’s as beautiful as I remembered."
Lots of story is told in this relatively short book, and if you are looking for pure romantic escapism then it’s definitely one I would recommend that you give a few hours of your time too. You definitely need to throw reality out of the window at the start of this one, but for all that it was a sweet, sexy, well written royal romp. I loved Leo, and I warmed to Alicia the more I got to know her.
"I want you… Once wasn’t enough. It will never be enough."
I’ll definitely be looking to read the first book in the series at some point in the future, and I hope the author has a few more ideas up he sleeve for some more Modern Fairytales in the future.
The Prince's Bride is the second book in the Modern Fairytales series. Each book is a standalone. I read the first book and loved it so I was sure I'd love the next. And I did.
This book was reminded me of Beauty and the Beast a little in parts but it was definitely a fairytale. And who doesn't love a fairytale?
Alicia goes in to a downtown club with the intent to cross an item off her bucket list: have a one-night stand and walk away. She finds the perfect candidate. What she doesn't know is that it's Prince Leo - a man from her past.
The Prince - or Leo as Alicia knew him - has been thinking about Alicia for the past 10 years; since they were last together. Leo sees Alicia in this club and he is so shocked and excited to possibly have a chance with her again, even if she doesn't know this "stranger" is her former love Leo.
Such a great story and just a good HEA that is needed sometimes.
