Couldn't review the title for personal reasons but had an interview with the author to compensate: http://www.intravenousmag.co.uk/2017/05/interview-abigail-baker.html

NOOOOOOOOOO!!! No, No, No, No. Don't leave me this way!!! Sigh.....dang it...

If you haven't noticed by now, there is a killer cliffhanger. And I mean, killer! I admit that I wasn't a huge fan of the first book. It was really difficult for me to get in to the world, characters, etc, but once the story kicked in, I was all in. This book starts two years after Ollie's rebellion hit a snag. Two years of living in Montana with her Papa, following the "rules" that Marin has bestowed on her. Two years without her Reaper, her lover and the other half of her soul. After someone dies with Ollie's Deathmark, one she didn't administer, it's clear that the rebellion may not be over and someone is trying to set her up.

In order to figure out what happened with the Deathmark, Ollie agrees to "help" Marin, in return, freeing her Papa and Brent. But when she arrives to complete her assignment, it becomes more complicated. There's another Master Scrivener and there's an ambush of epic proportion. We get to meet new characters and old ones confuse the hell out of us. People aren't exactly who you think they are. Friends are foes and foes are friends.

By the time this book ends, Ollie has "mastered" her craft a little more and all hell breaks loose. And the freakin' cliffhanger will make you scream at the book. Just a fair warning. And now? Now I have to wait Hades knows how long until I get my hands on the next one....sigh....dang it...
