"Blood" and I started off on the wrong foot. As with most vampire novels, and YA novels, and romance-y novels, and so on, I tend to demand the impossible: Books need to stop trying to "bring a new twist" to a good trope, without being a carbon copy and tailrider of those titles that came before them.
But I couldn't connect to the characters or story, skipped pages or skimmed paragraphs - even though the book isn*t that long to begin with. In all fairness, I can't give a proper rating because I don't think I've read "Blood" properly. It just didn't quite match my expectations and I ended up cynical about it, which isn't fair.
If you read the excerpt and enjoy that -- this is a book for you, though. I just didn*t connect from the get-go.

Blood is the first book in a series. There were questions that I had no real interest in finding out the answers to. I didn’t like the characters, they felt flat and had no real dimension. This book didn’t catch my attention and my mind was wandering. I felt bored. It was so slow going I found myself just skimming over the last bit. It just wasn’t the book for me.
Thank you to Egmont USA and NetGalley for the electronic advanced reading copy in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this egalley to read and give my honest review, The opinions here are my own.
I really wanted to like this book. I do love the vampire realm but it has to be done well. This one was just boring for me. SO MUCH NARRATIVE. The poor execution had me skipping pages, hoping to find something that would draw me in. Unfortunately, it didn't happen. I wanted something exciting to happen, but it was just dragging on and on and I felt like it was going nowhere. I skipped to the end to read the last chapter, thinking maybe I was missing something. But I found I was not.

I requested this several years ago and I don't think it's a book for me anymore. So I will not be reviewing at this time, but if I do read it, I will update this review. Thank you for the opportunity.

I won't be reviewing this book; I requested it in a past lifetime of my NetGalley use and it no longer fits with my reading interests.

Due to a glitch with the book file, I was unable to read this book. I regret that I am unable to give a further review.

Not a review, just dropping a note to let you know I am trying to clean up my netgalley and if I can't find the book on my kindle then it either did not get downloaded or got lost when I changed ereaders and I don't have it. I am only putting a star on these because you are making use do stars whether I want to or not.
