This is an unusual story of the cycles of love and hate and secrets and lies. There were parts that I found so corny and trite that I almost gave up, yet there were parts that were so intriguing that I carried on. Nevertheless, the central plot of a 40-something woman who is mistreated by her husband and has a summer fling with a college boy tennis player is not quite believable, nor are the subplots. None of the characters are particularly likable. I was left with a generally icky feeling when I finished.
I received this book from NetGalley.
I love a good drama and 'Breaking and Holding' is one such novel. I actually finished this book a few weeks ago whilst spending an afternoon sitting in the garden. A great book to read this time of the year (summer).
A well written book that had me turning the pages. It is very rare for me to finish a book within a day, which in itself is saying something. This is the first time that i have read any novels by this author and it will certainly not be the last. Highly recommended.
Although a very late review, i do thank the author and the Publishers.
