Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.

Okay, I really wasn't sure what to expect with this one. Evan is hardened. She's been through a lot and has come through with a very tough shell. She's a ballbuster (for lack of a better word) and she takes no prisoner. She's her own boss and she makes everyone around her cringe. Enter Lincoln, a New Orleans prosecutor trying to bring down the guy at the top of a Ponzi scheme (who happens to be Evan's client).

I wasn't sure what was going to happen with them and I'm still not sure how I felt about everything. It felt like their relationship went from very aggressive sex to way more in the blink of an eye. And then things got a little crazy (as things are apt to do when the mob is involved). I do wish we would have had a little more information about the supporting characters, but I liked where Saunders is going. All in all, I enjoyed the read and I'm looking forward to reading the other books in this series.

I enjoyed this story of Evangeline and Lincoln, although some of Evangeline's actions, especially in the beginning of the book, made me cringe. As we got to know her better, I liked her much more. This one was quick and easy to read and kept my interest.
