Quick, smutty, and fun, Hardass is book two in Christina Saunders' (Celia Aaron) Bad Bitch standalone series. Featuring smart, female lawyers who must square off with stubborn, alpha male lawyers, the Bad Bitch series follows smart-mouthed heroines who woo the men they aren't supposed to, turning the alphas into puddles at their feet. Along the way they tackle tough cases and get up to no good with their equally sassy friends. In Hardass we meet Caroline and Washington Granade, a lawyer and his associate who have taken on a notorious serial killer's case. As the two complete their discovery, they fall into a tantalizing office romance that made me laugh out loud and blush, a lot. Hardass is, so far, my favorite of the series. It's off-the-cuff, totally not your normal lawyer romance due to the eroticism and the humor, but it's better for it.
If you love smart characters, but sometimes want your heat to be spice level ten, Hardass is the book for you.
This is the first book by Christina Saunders that I’ve read. It is the second book in the Bad Bitch series. I didn’t read the first one but this is a stand-alone. The story was humorous, slightly suspenseful, and there was lots of steam between the main characters. It was a quick and hot read. Perfect for a Sunday afternoon.
Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.
Whew! What a ride Saunders took us on. Wash is a partner in a law firm where Caroline is an associate. When she helps him on a case, the attraction becomes way too much and things get interesting. Add in the fact that they're trying to free their client by pointing the finger at a real killer and you've got one heck of a story.
This one had a bit more connection between the H/h than the first one, so I appreciated that we eased into their relationship. Although it was as hot and dirty as I've come to expect after reading only one Saunders book. Can't wait for Kennedy's story!
Super hot, dirty talking Wash had my attention from the get go in this story! Like the title implies, hes a hardass attorney who is brutal in and out of the courtroom. But his new associate Caroline may be the one thing that can get underneath his skin.
Christina Saunders is Celia Aaron (or vice versa) and if you've never read any Celia Aaron, trust me.. you are MISSING OUT! She does funny and hot and dirty on a grand scale and Hardass is no exception. Loved Washington Granade - 4 WickedGoodStars!
Oh My God! Yet another fantastically written book by Christina Saunders! Hardass is the second book in the Bad Bitch series, and this time, follows Lincoln's brother, Washington.
Washington Granade, or Wash, as he's called, is a hotshot lawyer. He likes to be in control, and runs his firm with an iron fist - which is probably why he is known as a hardass. He is the ultimate alpha male - confident, brooding, sexy as all hell.
Enter Caroline.
The 'class clown' of the firm. Chance would have it that these two end up working a murder case together, and Wash gets to see that there is more to her than meets the eye. She is an intelligent, feisty, strong-willed woman, who challenges him, like no other has before.
I also have to mention, Terrell Lynch, Caroline's best friend and room-mate. He is hilarious! I love the chemistry that these two have. Everyone needs a Terrell in their life!
This book had me giggling one minute, swooning the next (okay, so maybe it was mainly swooning - super steamy sexy times!). At one point, I was on the edge of my seat, hand covering my mouth as I tried to read faster to find out what was going to happen! I literally couldn't put it down. I loved it!
The main characters in this one, Washington Granade and Carolyn Montreal, are attorneys in the same firm. Washington is a partner, and Carolyn a junior associate. As they work together on a case, the attraction between them starts to heat up. They finally give in and begin to develop feelings for one another, which is not allowed in their workplace. When Carolyn thinks Washington has betrayed her, he will have to do some fast talking to win her back.
This one was rather crass, but I enjoyed the storyline. I'm interested in seeing what happens in the next book with the last of the Granade brothers.
hmmm. The sex was hot but some of the plot was not. I figured things out pretty early on in this book and there were portions of it that actually bored me a bit, but great love scenes tend to make that a bit more forgivable.
I liked the characters in this book. Both of them were brazen and full of life and they worked well opposite one another. There was a lot of chemistry between them, even early on and the author allowed that to build to a nice and satisfying crescendo.
For the most part, I found this to be an enjoyable read full of steamy scenes that made me say wow! That's what books like this should be about.
