"The Art of Rivalry" is the next best thing to sitting at a café with an art historian and getting the inside scoop on the stories behind six great artists, their motivations and relationships. It is not a textbook and it is very light on images, so I think it will be best enjoyed by those with a solid art history knowledge who are interested in discovering a lesser-known side of the history they are already familiar with. Fast-paced and engaging: I highly recommend this book if you're an art history lover!
