This book consists of short stories that spans several generations and what marriage meant to that particular person. I found the concept very interesting but had trouble connecting with the characters. I thought it was difficult to keep track of who was who and to remember where each person fit into the timeline. If I'm honest I found it pretty bleak as many of the characters were depressed or unhappy with their lot in life. I think it was an interesting premise however the delivery wasn't great.
