The first Luke Carlton novel.
In CRISIS, we're introduced to Luke Carlton, a former British commander now under contract to MI6. Turned to whenever MI6 has to engage in a particularly dangerous mission, Carlton is an interesting addition to the growing canon of British action heroes.

It's an interesting novel, with a good protagonist. The story maybe wasn't as smoothly told as it could have been (and as many in this sub-genre are), but it was good enough to make me interested in reading the next book in the series (or whatever else Gardner happens to write next).

Unfortunately I didn't finish reading this one, but I did skim read as it was one of our books of the month.
