They're back!!! Rachel and Jasmine have been entertaining readers over the years with their petty and very unconventional relationship which goes between rivalry and a true friendship/sisterhood. ReShonda and Victoria use their exceptional talent to remind us that different isn't always bad and that laughter is good for the soul.

"She's not a little girl. She's like almost sixty."

I said something similar to that throughout the entire book. It still had the signature humor because the shenanigans were still present but Jasmine was too over the top in my opinion. This installment of the series was not as entertaining as the previous ones, but it was still a solid book. A Blessing and a Curse is a proper sendoff for this much beloved series and I'm confident readers will enjoy it!

Rachel Jackson Adams looks at her father as if he has lost his mind or worse about to have a stroke when he utters the words that could change her relationship with Jasmine Cox Larson Bush, someone she has been sworn frenemies with for some time now. Is the game changer in the story of these two women we have come to know from a heated church election, a murder cover-up, and a reality show.

When the Reverend Simon Jackson finds and is looking through some old pictures from his past, he begins to have a moment about his teenage love and because she looks so much like Jasmine could he be her father? Rachel is going to debunk this theory because it is not possible that this could be true and this is the start of a journey for them both to get the answers they need to remove all doubt.

Jasmine is not interested in what Rachel or Simon is saying about Simon being her father or attending a family reunion but when Rachel tells her there is an opportunity in Smackover, Arkansas to expand her charity Jacqueline’s Hope she jumps at it
if only to have Rachel and Simon to leave her alone.

I enjoyed this book as the authors always write a strong story that blends, so you don’t know who is writing what. There is a lot of back story about Simon that I enjoyed and the character Mae Frances who I want to have as a friend. She knows everybody who is anybody. There were some laugh out loud moments as usual, and this book for me is classic Billingsley and Murray. This is a well-crafted story that those who follow these two authors will enjoy and if this is your first time reading one of their work make sure you pick up the rest. As always we look forward to the next chapter in the lives of Rachel and Jasmine because they are fun to read about. There's always some drama yet dealing with real life issues that are relatable.

Buy this book by ReShonda Tate Billingsley and Victoria Christopher Murray! It will be a great book club read as there is much to discuss.

VCM & RTB does it again! A Blessing & a Curse is a well written page turner. It keeps you entertained and pulls you in from the start. It was good to get caught up in the worlds of Rachel, Jasmine and Mae Frances. Great collaboration, 5 stars!!!!!

Two women, friends and enemies have there lives uprooted when they discover they may be half sisters. This book is about family. We may not be proud of them or know they exsist, but they are family. And sometimes it takes them to make us see right when we need it. Good story about secrets and the effect they can have on one when they are revealed. Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the advanced copy of this book in return for my honest review..

They've done it again! I swear, I never think there's anywhere else for these characters (and more importantly the duo) to go....yet somehow Reshonda and Victoria find away to take them to the next level. The idea of Jasmine & Rachel being sisters seemed unrealistic until they started weaving the tale. Then it seemed so possible and as a long time fan of the series made you wonder "how did I miss this possibility!?" Expertly written, it's still impossible to tell one writing style from the next. 5 stars and I'm literally salivating at the idea of FINALLY finding out just who Mae Frances is. I hope Victoria and Reshonda keep up their collaborations, this book is proof they're still capable of taking these characters further!

I am a huge VCM and RTB fan. I have enjoyed reading about Jasmine and Rachel in each of their series. So when the two authors put these two women together, it was genius. I anticipated this read and of course, it was well-written. I saw a different side to both these women which I liked.

Rachel and Jasmine are back. These two are like oil and water. They do not mix at all. The sad part about it, is that they are alike in more ways than one. I wonder why? Simon Jackson is Rachel's father. He met Jasmine only once, but thinks she resembles is first love Doris. On top of that, he thinks Jasmine is his daughter. Take a ride on this crazy journey from New York, to Mobile, to Smackover to find out if what Simon suspects is true. In true Diva Mode, Rachel and Jasmine go toe to toe. Sometimes, when you gamble, you get more on your return than you expected. The title of the book is perfect for Rachel and Jasmine.
