The life of young cut purse Malden has been enhanced. He’s now working for the master of the Thieves Guild of Ness. (Why do all fantasy type medieval stories have guilds?) That changes when Malden is strong armed into pursuing the whereabouts of a demon. With a somewhat motley collection of others (apart from the gorgeous enchantress Cythera) they trek off to the mountains to the East of Skrae on a quest that brings forth some interesting twists.
