I was going through my kindle and found this story that I didn't get around to read and review. I had previously read the other two books in the Beautifully Damaged series, which is the reason I requested this title. How, it became lost to me until now I don't know.
I finally read it and I liked it. I regret the time lapse between reading book #2 and this book as many details of the series were forgotten to me. Because of this it took me a bit of time for me to get on page with all the characters.
Avery Collins has just got a job with Trace Montgomery. Since she's new to the area she needs a place to stay. Thankfully Trace and his meddling ways guides her to Rafe McKenzie. A win win situation he needs money to help with his renovations and Avery needs a place to stay. Trace knew this could be a good match and knew intervention needed to happen for stubborn Rafe and his love life.
I really liked Rafe and Avery together. I liked Avery's quirky way and how Rafe felt like that was endearing. Of course things weren't easy for these two which kept me intrigued. I wanted to punch Rafe's ex in the face she was written so well that I hated her instantly. I was also happy to see the others from book 1 & 2 and that Avery fit in so well with everyone.
It was well paced and kept me in suspense. And now I want to use some of Avery's cooking tricks into my recipes.
