while I did enjoy the book, I felt it was missing something that would make it better. I feel if the story wasn't so repetitive or if it focused more on Lisa's treatment and overcoming it would have made the story a better building.
The story although was sad, I know people who want babies but can't and I can feel their pain, this story did a good job conveying that. Lisa's character could be a little offputting at times but again she had her reasons. Matt's character was loving and I was drawn to him and wanted him to help be the one to help Lisa. even though some parts could have been added to give the story a little more I would still recommend this book to anyone wanting a good quick read and want to relate to a chracter.
Lisa and Matt, the perfect couple, finally are pregnant. Unfortunately, Lisa is diagnosed with cancer and the treatment to save her life also renders her infertile. This happens very quickly. The rest of the book is Lisa's grief and Matt's trying to bring her around. I found it generally tedious. Limited pages were given to the difficult decision and none to the actual treatment - it was completely skimmed over.
It was a very short book and I kept hoping it would get better.
This was a heart-rending and emotional story. Get the tissues ready. I fell in love with Matt and Lisa and enjoyed each page of their story.
Many thanks to Lake Union Publishing and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.
"Always and Forever" by Soraya Lane is a good, romantic story. It is appropriate for anyone 18+ years of age who like to read romance.
I had a really hard time choosing a star rating for this title. I did enjoy the book, but it was just lacking a certain something that would make it great. I can't even pinpoint what it is it was missing but something just didn't do it for me. This was a heart wrenching story to read and although I have never been 100% in their shoes, I know what it's like to want a baby so badly and not be able to have one. Thankfully, my story ended differently but it still hit close to home reading about them living through it. I loved Matt's character so much and was rooting for him the entire time. Lisa was a little frustrating but I can kind of see where she was coming from in dealing with her grief. Even with a 3 star rating, I would still recommend this book to anyone wanting a good quick read.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read an advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review.
