You know how as readers, we have those books on our shelves - the ones we know we will get to eventually but as new books come along, the older ones end up getting pushed to the back of the shelves? That's what happened to The Hating Game by Sally Thorne. I remember watching the movie a few years back and also this book had been on my mind lately, so I finally got around to reading it in my mind - I thought why the heck did it take me so long to read? In The Hating Game, we have Lucy and Joshua who work as co-assistants to the CEOs of Bexley and Gamin Publishers. Joshua to Mr. Bexley and Lucy to Helena -the Gamin CEO. The pair have this love/hate game going on which keeps not only the company on their toes but their HR rep. When a new role is created and has the two of them competing with the loser -resigning from their job. The competition and games start to heat up not only in the offices but soon in their lives outside of work and the pair are about to discover that hating someone is the same as loving someone and that they are one in the same. What happens though when the job announcement is made? Who will miss out as there can only be one winner?
Find out in this fun NA chick-lit read "The Hating Game" by Sally Thorne.
The Hating Game is one of those books from which you resent real life taking you away. Many times I had to put it down to go and do RL stuff, only to find myself muttering "Joshua Templeman..." I loved the snarky banter, and the swoons were many. Nothing came as a surprise, as I was paying attention and could see where things were going, but I loved it all nonetheless. I think Sally Thorne is about to become my latest auto-buy author. When I started this I was unaware she was someone who had been recommended to me often by friends in an online writing community, so I shouldn't have been surprised that it was fantastic. I highly recommend, and will be keeping a keen eye out for Thorne's next project. 5/5 cupcakes.
