Avery Truitt fell in love with Prince Colin the first time she met him, but then he stood her up and she's spent the last 5 years trying to get over him. Now she's going to be spending Christmas with her sister and her brother-in-law the king of Brighton, and she knows she's going to come face-to-face with him. Will she be able to keep Colin in the past? or will their love be rekindled?
This was a spectacular read. I have only read a few of Rachel Hauck's books, but I can say she is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors! This is the 4th installment in the Royal Wedding Series, and even though I have not read any of the other books in the series, I feel like it could stand alone. It's set at Christmas, which in my opinion adds its own romance! It was beautifully written, and the characters were very well developed. It is the perfect fairy tale with God at the center of it, which I really appreciated. If you enjoy romance and Christmas, this is the perfect book for you!
**I received this book free from the publisher through CelebrateLit. I was not required to write a positive review, and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
What woman doesn't love a beautiful love story ? Best of all, a tale culminating in a wedding??? I have loved each book in Rachel's "Royal Wedding Series", however, this one surpassed my expectations ! I must confess that it is my favorite of the four novels.
There is no other word that describes the characters, other than "enchanting". Each is so well described in a realistic manner that you immediately find yourself deeply immersed in their everyday lives. They were beautiful, fun and full of love. Prince Colin and Avery were simply charming! No romance is without its challenges and these characters experienced many. I felt myself taking on the character's roles and secretly cheering them on in their confusing times.
The plot moves quickly with numerous unexpected twists and turns. The Bell Ringing Tradition was integrated so well into this love story . It added fun to a somewhat tense period of time.
The most difficult part of reading this book was having to put it down to deal with my daily activities! It is the most delightful read that I have had for some time, a tale full of fairy tale fantasy, with a truly "happily ever after" ending! What a great ending to a dreamy series!! You simply must grab a copy of this book, sit in front of the Christmas tree and DREAM as you read!!
A five star book!!! I am eagerly awaiting the next series from fabulous author, Rachel Hauck!
This book was a gift from CelebrateLit. The opinions expressed are honest and my own.
*OOPS! The review was written but it looks like it was never submitted*
Another fun, delicious royal romance with a holiday touch! Rachel Hauck is true to form with a delightful, easy-to-get-lost-in romance with a carefully woven in spiritual aspect, and characters you can fall in love with. It was a wonderful wrap-up to this series.
If you like feel-good (Hallmark but better) happily-ever-after romances, this is an excellent pick.
Readers of the Royal Wedding series love this addition which focuses on Prince Colin and Avery Truitt. Hauck stays true to style, adding fun and comedy to the unconventional romance, which gives the novella a lighthearted feel and leaves readers smiling. Avery and Colin's love for each other is evident in everything they do, although it takes them longer to realize it. Readers will cheer for them from the very beginning, hoping that they too can have their happily ever after.
FTC Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. A positive review was not required. These are my honest thoughts and opinions.
This story started off so cute! I really enjoyed the romance and sports aspects of the book. Then things got really strange. An old legend and superstition were attributed to a "miracle of God." This was over-emphasized throughout the second half. The magically-ringing bell was too strange and fantasy-centered to fit into a contemporary, non-fantasy-genre story for me, and I really struggled through the back half of this one because of that. If the superstitious stuff was omitted, this would have been my favorite of the series, as Avery and Colin's romance was charming.
A Royal Christmas Wedding is one of those books that will leave you with tears! Avery goes back home to Georgia to help her mom after her father's death. Her mom misses Avery's sister so they travel back to Brighton to spend the holidays. Colin realizes Avery is the one he loves and wants to spend the rest of his life with but is it too late?
She’s done it again. Rachel Hauck has made me cry. I mean…Every. Single. Time. No matter what it is, if Rachel Hauck writes it I’m usually crying by the end (note: they are pretty much always happy tears!).
I was in desperate need of a great Christmas book to help me continue the feeling of the holiday’s past December and this book was exactly what I needed for that. I have long loved her royal series and this was the perfect end to that! Plus, combine a quaint kingdom, a handsome prince, and a spunky Georgia girl and you’ve got a recipe for success.
In this sweet (and relatively short) Christmas read we see Prince Colin of Brighton Kingdom become reacquainted with Avery Truitt (Susanna’s sister). We also find out more about their past and how that affects their current history. Plus, in addition to all of this, we get let into a past tradition in Brighton Kingdom involving a bell and a potential marriage on Christmas Day. What more do you really need to know?
All in all, the story captivated me and made me smile—even as it had its ups and downs with the general roadblocks that come up between Avery and Colin. If you’re still in the mood for a little Christmas and a lot of romance, add this to your next-up TBR. Or, if you must wait until the next holiday season, then add this to your wish list because it’s the perfect Christmas read!
Christmas + a fairy tale = great reading! That’s the equation for Rachel Hauck’s A Royal Christmas Wedding, the final book in her Royal Wedding series. Readers met Avery Truett and Prince Colin in the first book in the series, and their whirlwind romance turned heartbreak finally comes full circle as Avery and her recently widowed mother join the royal family of Brighton Kingdom for the Christmas holidays. Neither characters have forgotten the sweetness of their time together nor the bitter taste of separation. But trust is hard to rebuild even when the heart longs for it.
I have loved all of Hauck’s books in this series. There is a sense of the magical both in the settings and in the tales that unfold. In A Royal Christmas Wedding, God intervenes when a Colin sends his heart’s desire heavenward. Who needs a fairy godmother when you have God on your side? And while the course of their love isn’t without obstacles, you know in the end there will be a happily-ever-after. In the Epilogue, Hauck also includes a wrap-up to all the love stories that took place throughout the series. A perfect ending for a wonderful series!

Audience: adults.
The fourth in a series that are interconnected but focus on different characters, this book focuses on Prince Colin and Avery Truitt. It had been awhile since I had read the first three books, but it was easy to dip back into this world of sorts.
I would say out of all the characters and pairings in this series, I think I liked this one the least. I just couldn't fall in love with either of them and their love story just wasn't floating off the page. I knew going in that this being a Christian fiction romance that we wouldn't have any steamy bedroom scenes, but even with that this book just didn't get there for me. I loved the others, I think this one just flopped.
This wouldn't keep me from continuing to read Rachel Hauck as an author, but I think this series is done and I am glad.
I absolutely loved this book! In fact, today I have ordered all the princely titles from this series for my church library.
Although romance is not my favorite genre, the story was most engaging and drew me in from the start. As a church librarian, I know people in our faith community who will absolutely adore this book and the three that came before. A perfect read for the Christmas season!!
Magical. The stuff of which fairy tales are made. Captivating. And with timeless spiritual themes that speak to all of us. A Royal Christmas Wedding is a perfect blend of enchantment, charm, and reality.
This is the story of Avery, sister of Susanna from Once Upon a Prince, and Prince Colin of Brighton. Many readers, me included, have longed for their story and its telling couldn’t be a more beautiful series conclusion. This is a story of second chances, of love lost and found, of family relationships and respect.
It was so much fun to be caught up in the sights and sounds of Cathedral City, as well as the lives of these characters, especially seeing Susanna and Nathaniel again. I loved the “Earn-A-Pound-Buy-A-Gift” event, a program that taught children how to make crafts to sell and then use their earnings to purchase gifts for family and friends.
As with all the books in the Royal Wedding series, Rachel Hauck places a touch of the supernatural that reflects God’s miraculous involvement in our lives – which, indeed, is something that the world doesn’t understand and that cannot be explained. The story of the Pembroke Bell, both past and present, added such richness to the story. Reflecting on the unexpectedness in life – her sister falling for and marrying a prince turned king – “Avery knew then the impossible was only hindered by doubt and fear.”
The epilogue, only two pages in length, is one of the most touching parts of this story – a beautiful conclusion that is so very moving. A Royal Christmas Wedding a wonderful Christmas read or any time of the year.

Rachel Hauck is really good at writing tender romances, and her Royal Wedding Series books are some of my favorites. This one was a great addition! A second chance at love story featuring Prince Colin and Avery, it has everything I would want in a contemporary romance. The book is filled with great characters, especially the two main ones, an engrossing storyline, and a sweet romance. Another winner by Hauck!
This series has been wonderful. The perfect Christmas book for anyone that loves a good love story. You fall in love with the characters and the setting so quickly and never want the story to end.
I've really enjoyed this series, as I love the idea of royals falling for commoners and this book is no exception. Prince Colin and Avery met and fell in love five years earlier, but he broke her heart...without reason. Now they have a second chance at love...if it all works out this time.
I love these characters! Prince Colin did indeed have a decent reason for the heartbreak, although he didn't handle it well. Chalk it up to immaturity. As much as he tries to fight his heart, he does a good job of winning the reader over. I love watching him find his faith and strength to do hard things. Avery is a sweet and strong woman, but how many times can a heart break? I didn't blame her at all for trying to move on, but when true love calls, she has to decide how to answer.
There really is something engaging about royals and I couldn't get enough. The magical effects of a prince, Christmas, and age-old traditions really grasped my attention and my heart. Although Maddie and Hy (the reporters) can be a bit overbearing and annoying, I felt they really brought certain aspects of this story alive. The culmination of the Christmas events made my heart sing--so perfect. I'm a little sad to see this series end.
Content: mild romance (kissing); moderate religious elements (it IS a Christian fiction).
*I received a copy through Netgalley, which didn't affect my review in any way.*
A delightful contemporary Christmas romance!
This is part of a “true” series. I believe that you need to read the books in order to fully follow the story line and get the full enjoyment out of them. I have to admit that I haven’t read the previous books myself. There were a number of times that I felt like I was a little confused because of that.
The setting in Brighton Kingdom is the stuff that fairy tales are made of. The introduction of the history behind the bell ringing just after midnight after the Harvest Ball completely set the stage for me.
I absolutely love these characters. There is a wonderful amount of detail for a number of the characters. This includes Avery Truitt, Prince Colin and those that are closest to both of them.
Both Avery and Prince Colin are dealing with their own emotional conflicts. Their feelings for each other are competing with the desire to live the life they believe they are supposed to live. They are trying to trust God to lead them along the path that He has planned for them.
I am highly recommending this charming story and giving it a rating of 5 stars.

Who doesn't like to read anything that has kings, princess' and a home named Brighton. Be ready to cheer Avery on as she seeks to find her place. Will it be in the arms of prince? Ummm, read the book and find out.
Blessings,
Karen Hadley

Whenever I pick up a book by Rachel Hauck I know I'm in for a treat. A Royal Christmas Wedding was so much fun to read and hard to put down. It is the fourth book in the Royal Wedding series. I have read all four books, but don't feel you need to in order do enjoy this one. That being said, if you don't read the others you are missing out on some unique and unexpected stories. This book follows Avery and Colin as they are forced to confront their past.
Going to Brighton during the holidays sounds like the perfect thing for Avery and her mother to do. After losing her father, nothing has been the same. The thought of seeing Colin again gives her pause, but also gives her hope that maybe she can finally get closure. The question is can her heart take seeing her true love again? And Colin isn't single, he has a gorgeous girlfriend that totally fits into his world. Will she get the closure she so desperately wants? Or will she be left with more questions?
I loved the fun history Hauck added to the story. This book was unique in many ways, one being that the main characters were once in love when they were younger. I always like to see true love get a second chance. It was interesting to see the relationship between the parents and their children. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys contemporary fiction. It's always fun to see how royalty is expected to live and act, and it's fun that this story is set in current times. I received a copy of this book from Zondervan in exchange for my honest opinion. All opinions expressed are my own.
