I requested this one back in the day as I had every intention of reading it. However, its been years and I still haven't gotten around to it and while I feel guilty at not reviewing a book I think that I need to admit to myself that I won't be reading this one anytime soon....if at all.

I picked up this book knowing that I loved the first book in this series and was hoping for more of the same. I finished the book so happy that it was an entirely different story, with characters from the first book making an appearance, and an amazing ending.

Jared is a band member of Pushing Limits, an up and coming band that is headed for the big time. Callie is a single mom with a HUGE secret. I knew that I wanted these two to be together but I was hoping that it would be for all the right reasons. The high school crush that Callie kept a secret was not reason enough for her to fall all over Jared. Jared needed to truly love Callie before they could be together. These are just a few of the reasons that these two needed to figure out what they both wanted before they could be happy. Stina Lindenblatt did a great job of telling their stories.

I really enjoy that all the characters in this series are real. They have families, they have feelings, they have needs and wants, and they have struggles. The struggles they have are not so far out there that they are not “normal.” The families and feelings are exactly what a “normal” person would have on a day to day basis. Even though there is a band with groupies and touring, there is not the partying and drugs that seem to go hand in hand with a lot of bands.

While My Song for You is part of a series only the characters are in both. Each book has its own story with its own main characters making them standalone books. I recommend reading this series, you can start with My Song for You.

There may be some spoilery type things, so warning!

The story flowed nicely and I do like the way the author writes, but the connection wasn't there between Callie and Jared. There are sweet moments, but I needed more. It's possible that I just didn't like the premise of Jared being Callie's sister's ex. Even if it was a just sex thing, it was still weird because Callie and Jared were actual friends when it happened. It wasn't like Callie was just Jared's girlfriend's little sister, they were good friends and Callie had a crush. So, that lowered the connection between Callie and Jared for me. They are still cute together though and I did like them together. Some other things that bothered me are that Callie isn't telling the child about his real mother, she's keeping Jared from knowing that he's the father, and when she said she could have sex without the kid knowing because he was deaf; I guess it was supposed to be some joke. I get the kid might be young, but that's your sister's child and the child should know about his mother. I did like the kid in this story; he's a sweetie. Jared and Callie are mostly really good with him. I don't really get why the author had the missing kid scene at the mall if nothing was going to come from that between Callie and Jared, and Jared's ex scenario should've created more drama.

I read the first book and felt the guys let the record company rule them too much, and that continued in this book. The guys really need to put their feet down with them. A music video doesn't need the band mates in committed relationships to have girls all over them. Nolan for sure should've spoken up after being told that if they wanted him to have sex with some random girl for a video, he better do it, was totally messed up. He just sat there, which sucks for Hailey. Man up guys!

I liked that Jared did show support towards Callie and the kid. Jared also was pretty honest with what he was feeling, so that was nice. I'm glad there wasn't too much groupie stuff. Callie and Jared do have some spicy moments too, which were good.

Overall, I did enjoy reading the story. The author does a good job of making the story entertaining, and the story feels complete. I think the premise just isn't my favorite to read. I'd read more by Lindenblatt, and I'm curious to see the other band members find the woman for them. Mason definitely needs to be less of an idiot and the band needs to stand up for themselves and their committed relationships. Here's hoping!

I did not finish this story. It wasn't to my liking and I found myself not invested in the story but to my surroundings.

Jared is an upcoming rock star. Even with his band mates and groupies around, he is lonely.
Callie is raising her sister’s child as her own. Keeping him a secret from his father was her sisters choice and Callie has honored that choice.
When Jared runs into Callie and her “son” Logan, he is instantly taken with them. No longer feeling lonely, Jared is then faced with the truth. Can he be the father Logan needs? And do his feelings for Callie extend beyond his gratitude for raising his child?

Sweet love story! Jared had a girlfriend right before starting his career in a rock band. She got pregnant but told him she aborted the baby. This caused Jared such deep resentment he cut ties with her and her family. He then left to tour with his band Pushing Limits, and has been very successful, now well known and popular. Fast forward five years, he has a chance encounter with his ex-girlfriend's little sister and realizes he's missed her. She was the cute and funny tag-along when he was with the ex, and they had good times. Now she's older, hot and has a deaf kid, cute and friendly. He's attracted to both and wants to pursue the connection, but Callie is strangely reticent.

Jared had been connected to a model in an on and off relation, but it was mostly convenience and sex. Now she's back in LA and wants Jared back. So Jared is dealing with band issues, ex girlfriend issues and a growing attraction to Callie. Things start to click around Logan's age, his dimples and likeness to Jared and the situation explodes for Callie. She has loyalties and secrets to keep, but these war with her feelings toward Jared and what she feels is right.

Very entertaining, good pace, liked Logan and liked that a child with disabilities is presented. He's cute, bright and well-adjusted and wants a dog.

Love single parent stories! this book continues with another member of the band Pushing Limits. Jared is a rock star but so very grounded and incredibly sweet. He is a guy to take home to meet the parents for sure. I loved that Callie had become so very protective of Logan. She wants to protect her heart as well. Jared finds out all her secrets and she still puts up such a brave front about all the changes in their lives. My absolute favorite was the child Logan. The author does a great job giving information about his disability without it becoming the focus of the story and overwhelming the reader. Wonderful personality in that little guy!

Loved the whole book. Looking forward to more in the series!

What a great series Lindenblatt has created. I loved this story between Callie and Jared. I felt all of the emotions of Jared throughout this story and was glad he was able to find his HEA.

Jared Leigh would have been a father like his own, if given the chance. He would have been the kind of man that played with his kid, that was present and a good role model. But his ex didn’t give him the choice to do that. Instead, she had an abortion. Four years later, a successful musician, he bumps into his ex's little sister and her son. A son that looks a lot like him. Callie Talbert never expected to see Jared again. A blast from the past, the man was even more gorgeous now than when they were kids. Too bad he only ever had eyes for her sister. Too bad she had to keep her sister's secrets from him. Now, it was too late. To keep Logan happy and safe, Callie would do anything. Except this time, Jared wasn’t ready to be sent away… My Song For You is a sweet romance about old friends who should have been perfect for each other, but never saw it before. Their situation is impossible. Their timing is worse. Their environment is unfavorable. Yet, their love is undeniable and together they will make it work. The guys from Pushing Limits are back with their sense of humor, loyalty and good looks. A fun read for sure.

I already loved the first Pushing Limits novel and been excited about its sequel and if it could live up with my expectations.

I immediately felt back at home in the story and the band setting. Jared and Callie were amazing characters and I loved them from the first moment. They had a very sparkling and sizzling chemistry and I loved them together. I loved Callie's strength as well as Jared caring for Callie and Logan.
Logan was an absolute sweetheart, I fell in love with the little boy.

The love story was realistic, although a bit too cheesy in the end, but overall I loved every minute I could spent with the characters. The story had me at the edge of teary eyes several times

The author's writing style is absolutely capturing and hope there will be books about the other band members soon.

This was a really cute book. I loved the characters and how they made you want them to work out. The writing was great. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romance that is a little different.

I very much loved My Song for You by Stina Lindenblatt. There was something special about this couple who had known each other as children and teenagers, the way fate put them together after 5 years of not seeing one another, and the rough road to find their happy place.

Jared’s life is in a good place; his band Pushing Limits is getting ready to drop their second album, their tour was a success and they will soon find out who they’ll be opening for on their second tour, his friends are all doing well and his family is always there for him when he needs them. He was happy for his best friend and the band’s lead singer who found the love of his life, but he was feeling a bit lonely and left out. When he runs into Callie, the younger sister of a woman he use to date, and her 4 year old son he can’t believe how easy it is to talk to her and he’s enthralled with Logan’s questions and openness.

There is no doubt Callie made some critical errors both in this book and in the year’s prior when she became Logan’s guardian. She has struggled working a full time job, working on her degree, learning to deal with Logan’s deafness and learn sign language, his medical bills and life in general. While I do believe part of the decisions she made were made while she was grieving, she could have made one or two phone calls and made her life so much easier. I don’t feel she made decisions that were best for Logan; they were more about her and what would happen if she made those calls.

I’m sure there will be people who will be angry with the Jared went about finding out that Logan was his son and the way he handled it immediately after he found out, but personally I can understand his reasoning for doing the paternity test on his own and for him being angry and needing some time to process it all. I’ll also state that bringing in his on again/off again girlfriend felt like a way to manipulate the plot, add some unneeded angst, and honestly it wasn’t necessary and then she just kind of disappeared. I have to give huge, huge kudos to Jared for not only accepting his son (even before he knew), for working to learn sign language to communicate better with him, for figuring out a way for him to enjoy music with him, and for giving Logan lots of extended family including his band mates who adored him from the start.

Callie and Logan had some things to work through, but their friendship from years ago coupled with the way the enjoyed spending time not only together but with Logan made them both willing to work at their problems, forgive and move forward.

Despite the issues I had, I loved My Song for You; the plot was complex, the characters engaging and the love story realistically challenging.
