I loved Innes and Connall's story!! Connall was so broken after being captured by the English and Innes was the perfect woman to bring him around! I loved how their siblings acted as matchmakers to get the two of them together!

I would definitely recommend reading the first book in the series before this one so that you can follow the storyline of the Relic. I'm excited to read the conclusion of the series!!

I'm actually kind of stumped with this one. I love Conell and Innes. Their chemistry is so instantaneous and it feels so real. I can actually believe these characters, and I love how they are both tortured souls but the entire book isn't dedicated to them complaining. I love everything about this book.... almost.

The same as with the first installment in this trilogy, I fell in love with the idea of really dealing with the relics, their powers, yada yada yada; however what I got from this book was a lot of anxiety over people discovering Innes' power, A LOT of sexual frustration and chemistry between Innes and Conell, and just enough about the relic to tease me.

I'm beyond frustrated because now I want to read the last book to see if I'll finally be satisfied in getting to know more about this "ancient relic", which we discovered in this book is only a little more than 50 years old, and finding out if Sir Evers reunites the 4 pieces of the tablet.... also, what does it actually do when combined?

Innes has come with her family to her sister’s - Ailien wedding. Innes meets Connal there who is to be Ailien’s new brother in law . Connal is a recluse keeping to himself and refusing to socialize being battlefield scarred inside and out. Innes keeps running into Connal on accident. Innes stays a little while longer as things are a little shaky between Ailien and her new husband Bruce. Innes has a gift that when she touches people she sees their past and feels their feelings. Innes knows not to share her gift lest she be branded a witch. Connal and Innes have an instant attraction but they don’t feel they will ever fall in love and they both fight the attraction. Connal had been captured after the battle of Solway Moss and held by the English for over a year. The battle had cost Connal his sword hand and many men from his clan. Connal was presumed dead as he wouldn’t tell the English who he was. Connal had survivor's guilt When his brother Bruce found out Connal was alive he paid the ransom and brought Connal back home.
This was a good story and I really liked it. At times I laughed and at times I choked up.I did doubt the love between Connal and Innes but i do feel it showed they at least cared for each other. I loved Wolf the puppy and definitely felt he added to the story. I felt bad for what Conall had went through and all his pain. I liked the plot a lot. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this story and I recommend.

I really loved this second book in the Scottish Relic Trilogy. It had a great pace, fantastic characters and character development and I loved the reintroduction of the main characters from book one in this book. This book definitely makes you feel a wide range of emotions and I love when a book does this. The concept of this trilogy is original and I absolutely love when I read something new and unpredictable!

I received this book for free from Netgalley for an honest review!
