WHY DID I LISTEN TO CHRISTMAS IN ETERNITY SPRINGS BY EMILY MARCH?
Christmas in Eternity Springs has been on my holiday TBR for several years. I had originally received an ARC to read back in 2016 but, never actually read it. Honestly, I've had a mixed relationship with the Eternity Springs series by Emily March. There are some that I have enjoyed and some that I absolutely did not. I think that was why I was reluctant to read this one. I decided to push ahead with it though during my 2021 Christmas in July project and took the audiobook out on Libby.
WHAT’S THE STORY HERE?
Christmas in Eternity Springs is another entry into the Eternity Springs series. It is a series that is set in a small Colorado mountain town that features a "healing" destination spa. This story involves three main characters - Claire, Jax, and Nicholas - each of whom has had their own trauma and are instantly drawn to each other. Together, they find a home in Eternity Springs, and together for the holiday season.
WHAT DID I THINK OF CHRISTMAS IN ETERNITY SPRINGS?
Christmas in Eternity Springs is full of believing and Christmas spirit. The three main characters are each learning to fully love and enjoy Christmas again. Each of them has been traumatized about the holiday which draws them together as they heal. I enjoyed this approach to the holiday season. I loved the dynamic between Claire and Nicholas and how she was able to heal from her personal childhood trauma but helping this young boy heal from his. I also loved the use of puppies throughout the story!
Unfortunately, I was not as drawn in with the romance between Claire and Jax. There were some sweet moments between them but, there were also several moments where I wanted to smack one of them upside the head (usually Jax). I did want to visit Claire's store Forever Christmas though because I love those types of shops especially if they are set in small towns.
HOW’S THE NARRATION?
Christmas in Eternity Springs is narrated by Amy Landon. It is 9 hours and 46 minutes long unabridged. I listened to it at 1.75x because I felt like it helped with the flow better. Overall, I enjoyed the narration because I felt like the narrator gave personality to each of the individual characters. I think it is because of this that I was able to continue with the story until the very end.
Christmas in Eternity Springs by Emily March is a heartwarming holiday book. Claire is a Christmas store owner in Eternity Springs with secrets to hide. Jax is a dad trying to help his son deal with a great tragedy. Jax moves to Eternity Springs to give Nicholas, his son, a stable home. I find that Nicholas steals your heart and the show. Eternity Springs has a healing effect on Claire, Jax, and Nicholas, with a little help from Celeste, the towns angel. I loved this book!
