I am a HUGE fan of the Paranormal and horror stuff, books, or movies. I requested a copy because I have always been fascinated with the Cecil hotel and I was surprised that the hotel didn't make it into the book. nonetheless, the hotels that were added to the story were pretty creepy. I loved learning the fact about Stephen King and the Stanley hotel that inspired the shining. A perfect book of short stories. recommended to any horror, a documentary lovers
Creepy! The perfect Spooky season read or to wet your paranormal appetite all year long. Definitely some places I want to stay and some I’d be too scared to stay. The historical bits were interesting and I liked the personal experiences of the author.
I’ve always wanted to stay at the Stanley Hotel, even though it would def scare the bejeezus out of me, so that was a particular favorite. It was a fun tour through some haunted sites and made me want to do more research and go visit them for myself.
I'd like to visit some of these hotels to see what I might feel/hear/see there. This book feels more factual and non-fiction-y than a lot of "haunting-type" books, which makes it both more true and less sensationalist than other books of this type.
Something I absolutely hate is when people who don't read the whole book post negative reviews, so I won't. Books like these, non-fiction supernatural, are always a hit or miss and it was a miss. Because it was a DNF, I won't rate it. It was entertaining, but didn't hold my focus long enough to finish the entire book.
This book was interesting but I didn't feel that it lived up to the title. While the title indicates stories about haunted hotels, what you get is the feelings the author and spouse had at different hotels. While the hotels are well known and most of the stories surrounding them are also known, only bits of the stories are mentioned. It was interesting to read about how the places made them feel and what they saw, I think a better title could have been used
