An entertaining cold war spy thriller written in 1966, but still very readable 50 years later, although much have changed in e.g. the technological field - but it is amazing how rarely one notices this while reading the book.
The story is well plotted, but loses its pace several times throughout the book. Especially the thorough preparations for the mission in the Soviet Union is well thought out. Compared to Tom Rob Smith's brilliant "Child 44", however, the story lacks much of the paranoia that characterized the period.
